Very good team i believe despite all the concerns about team chemistry and playing time distribution.

Sorry to bring this up, but people in Fener management in general are so repulsive that it's hard to support them in TBL. I wish the worst in TBL and best in EL for them... :p

After the games against Efes, Kepez, Barcelona, I can clearly say that Fenerbahce Ulker is pathetic. I really don't feel sad a bit if someone shoot Tanjevic today. And i'm not joking.

Sorry guys but what is the team's budget?Roster-wise they have nothing to be jelous of Pana,Oly,Real and Barca!Anybody disagrees? And Boza is a great coach. So let's wait and see.Of course the chemistry is questionable. And WTF is going wrong with Asik,he underperforms and FT shooting is killing him...

I'd really like to know the view of the Ulker fans about this year's squad.I think they have the best roster in Europe as for names. This is not excaggeration at all, think about it,Giricek for example is a true legend for Euro bball! On the other hand I'm not optimistic at all about them, there are too many egos,it reminds me a lot of the Fortitudo team of the season 1997-98,a true dream team for Euroleague with Rivers,Myers,Dominique,Fucka some good backups too like Attruia,Morreti but they were all leaders, there were not role players at all so they never managed to make a true team.

mmmmm, not really.
Fener has some big names but unbalanced roster overall, they'll probably be better after some games that what we saw vs Barça but they're not on the same level as the 4 bigs.

That's what I said mate.About Giricek, before going to the NBA he was a nuclear weapon for CSKA,then he went there for many years and was very successful, last couple of years before coming back he had his playing time streched down but I always thought of him like a player that wouldn't come back to Europe at least before his 35.Of course now things have changed since we have players like Kleiza,Childress and last year Pargo and Delfino but definetely he is one of the biggest names in Europe, just hope to find his game again because at the moment he plays less than 20% of what he is capable.

lol first of all we're not ulker fans, just fenerbahce:) do you say regal fans to barcelona?

whatever, let me answer some of your questions. I guess the team budget is around 10-12m euros. And of course none of us claim that we're in the same level with top teams like pao, real, barca, oly. Much more than team chemistry, We have a real problem with Bogdan Tanjevic. Yeah, he was a great coach, a genius when defence matters. Although he's been with us for 3 years and since the day he signed our team haven't played a single organized offensive display. It's like having cancer on your chest to watch Fenerbahce Ulker on offence. Give the ball to a random player and expect him to score in 24 seconds. It's very unlikely that the team can achieve something this year. (I mean in euroleague)

And for team, although the players that you mentioned such as Greer, Solomon, Giricek, Kinsey, our frontcourt isn't enough to compete for high levels. In PF position, our only option is Turkcan who is injuried right now and it's killing us. For years, we've been desperately expecting a decent PF signing. Our C position is slighly overrated which is shared by 3 young turkish internationals(asık,savas, erden). Fundamental is what they're lacking of.

Gordan Giricek, who is a real injury prone, missed the whole year recently and had an operation. Now he's fit but struggling to be the important element of the rotation. Tanjevic should give him more minutes i believe.

Overally, Fenerbahce Ulker's future is totally unknown. As you said, let's wait and see.

Thanks for your answer kyosphere,I haven't watched much of UIker and it looks strange to me that a coach like Boza Tanjevic hasn't managed yet to make the team work in offence after 3 years of work.About your tall guys,I think all of them are talented like hell and especially Asik, but while he began the Eurobasket and came at his peak after 3-4 games, then he fell a bit, especially in offence he doesn't show what he can.Erden is also physically gifted, not as talented as Asik but he looks like a hard working guy.On the other hand Savas who is the best techically of the 3 looks like he has stoped developing, and I don't know, while he has the tools he doesn't contribute much,he should be one of the team's best scorers by now and he is not.In overall I could say that Boza who is well known for working with young players has done some but not all he could. Also Preldic is unable to play the 4 for some?I haven't watched him at all that's why I'm asking. Also I'd like to ask you mate why the fans didn't support the team while the management has made so impressive signings?

You're right, this is Fenerbahce team, sponsored by Ulker company, but it's not that simple. A sponsor cannot grant you a EL-spot, especially when you were not in top4 in TBL. It was Ulker bball team that gave it to Fener. So, it is normal for people to think this team is still a continuation of Ulker. But it is not, as you said.

Though they have a very nice team on paper, I am not so optimistic about Fener, either. No serious team gets a blow-out loss in its first home game. But I strongly disagree that Omer Asik is overrated. He's genuinely good. Fener has to find a way to make the best out of him.

Unfortunately, Oguz Savas stopped developing for some reason as the_black_planet remarked. He's very talented, and it would be a pity if he ends up as a mediocre player.

Well, tanjevic has tried it but he's too thin and weak. He can play 1,2,3 but not 4. We've seen that.

oh mate about that... Well I can count many reasons, but none of them would be satisfying. Firstly, Some fans(including me) never accepted Tanjevic when the board parted ways with Aydın Ors. It was the first year of Ulker's sponsorship, and we beat Efes 4-0 in the finals, everything was going great but somehow They parted ways and signed Tanjevic. It was the result of complicated relations between Turkish Basketball Fedaration and Fenerbahce Board. Like i said, some of us never accepted this behaviour against Aydın Ors and stopped following the team actively. Another reason is the basketball arena's location. Fenerbahce is located around Kadıkoy district(Asian side) where many loyal fans live, but the arena is located far far away on European side. Fenerbahce Arena construction is going on right now in Asian side and we hope people will show up when it finishes. But none of them would be excuse of an empty arena in Euroleague game for a team that has millions of fans. The question is whether those people are fans of Fenerbahce Sport Club or just fenerbahce Football team

Will Solomon is gone, Mirsad is injuried, Preldzic is flu. We don't have a back up PG, We don't have a PF. We're playing awful, oh actually we're not playing basketball at all. And the worst of all, that dirty old **** is still in charge. Feel free to write Fener off this season because another wasted year is right ahead, thanks to our genius! board, again!.

Fenerbahçe Ülker won't be successful while Tanjevic is their coach.Their squad is good but Tanjevic have problems with many players. Now Solomon is out of team,I think Giricek will be the second,Oğuz Savaş and Ömer Aşık can want to leave the team. When I look their face in the court,I can see they are unhappy with Tanjevic.

Fenerbahçe Ülker haven't got any set game at offense, they are playing randomly. At the defence, I can't believe how that team can't make good defense with that players (Kinsey,Ömer Onan,Ömer Aşık,even Semih Erden and Rasim)

I watched today the derby of the Turkish league, haven't watched the whole match yet,I was a bit dissapointed about the attendance for such a match,I think that in a better atmosfear by the crowd and with the quality of the players it would be great basketball. Why the fans turn their back to these so much talented teams? Is it a general phenomenon in the Turkish basketball or not, because if I remember right, last year that I watched the Turk Telecom game against my team Aris the attendance was high and there was quite a passion by the fans!So what's going on,is the attendance in general low because of the football or in these 2 teams the fans don't like the management or something?About the game,in the 1st half there was a phantastic Erden and a great Savas too,Asik was also good but he gets me in my nerves with his inability from the FT line,I think last 2 years he didn't have that low %,he is maybe the worst in Europe, reminds me if you remember of Sasha Houpman the German center! And he gives me the impression that he doesn't work in that aspect,he looks like shooting in a rush, doesn't take his time...Anyway.Ulker was not that bad offensively, taking in to account that they played without a true PG,they should sign one soon because Greer has no skills at all to run a team.Giricek dissapoint me,the first time I watch him since he returned to Europe, has quality of course but looks like he lost his athletic ability at all,he is not old so is it because of the injury?Hope he gets back in shape and then he would be the best player in Europe! On the other side,I watched a fantastic Sinan Guler, this player is very important for any team!

People who live in İstanbul usually don't go to basketball matches, because of terrible İstanbul traffic. In other cities in Turkey, fans go to matches and support their team.
