Will Brazil win easily their debut in the WC? Or will Iran surprise them and steal the victory? IMO Brazil wins by +20

Brazil without Nene Hilario

Iran without Sahmad Nikkhah Bahrami and Hamed Afagh; both are starters.

I'll go with Brazil on this one.

While Brazil hasn't impressed me in the prep games, they should still win this without too much trouble. Brazil by 10-20 pts.

Splitter - Haddadi should be a good match up.

Splitter will win it, though.

It's frustrating to see Team Melli play without the captain and starting SG. Despite these setbacks, I am hopeful and confident that they will put on a good show

Coach of Iran- Matic is very experienced and in my opinion he will try in this situation(without main power-Samad) to slow the pace of the game as much as it is possible. So spread is over 20 points and it is very huge.Brazil is good but has no reason to kill.

difficult match for Brazilians, but I think they will win it. without Nene will be more difficult, but the result should be 76 - 66

I hope but I'm not optimistic, at least for the first match. the last time we played without Samad we lost by 30pts to China 2 years ago in Diamond cup !! now we have Arsalan, lets see what this boy can do against these basketball giants !

For people that likes to bet, it is best to play under 151 points. With out Samad number of points will be low for Iran, but either Brazil wont force the game- it is first game - not to forget

I will go for Iran on this one.For no good reason whatsoever other than I am flying on Monday to Tehran! :D
By the way, are there any Iranian channels that broadcast all games of world championship or at least any Greece game?
Thanks

I think it's going to be a good game and a win for Brazil:(
But still i hope Haddadi and Arsalan Kazemi play their top game and shock a few who still don't know what spectacular 100% natural skills we have in basketball(unlike some countries having players imported or going after heritages to find basketball players).
Good luck to both teams specially Iran!

I am so disappointed that Iran is not bringing Nikkhah or Afagh. This was Iran's year to be competitive. Without these two players (perhaps their best players...maybe even more important than Haddadi), they aren't very good. :( I'll pick Brazil by 10 points.

The first 2 games will be warm ups for Brazil.

And I really hope that our Argentinian coach gives a lot of minutes for the players comming out of the bench. I don't want to see more injuries.

And by the way, If we don't - and we problaly won't - win the group, I would rather to see Brazil placed as the 4th team in this group for the round of 16.

welcome but you chose the worst possible time :D in Summer, during Ramezan, World Basketball Championship ...

Iran is not a good place for basketball fans during the World Championship :D at best Iran Channel 3 will broadcast all of Iran's matches + Final (and maybe semifinals) !

if you stay in hotel you can't watch other matches because satellite channels are officially banned in Iran but you can find it in every houses !

the first Q was awful, nothing positive going on, you know you are not doing what you are supposed to offensively when your C & PF take 3pt shots.
Hope the game turns for the better from this point on.

I actually quite enjoyd Haddadi's little flurry of perimeter moves. Took Huertas off the dribble. Don't see that every day.

Final Brazil 81 x 65 Iran

Brazil played enough to win. Used the bench a lot. Our defense was not very good, so we need to improve it if we want to compete against Slovenia and Croatia.

and that first quarter was enough to lose the match, Brazil wasn't that strong as everybody thought

obviously we had no plan without Samad in offence (against an average defense) , unfortunately we have no one even close to Samad, (we had Aidin :( ) Arsalan had a good game but he is a power forward. and Zandi played really bad tonight.

Hamed and our fans in stadium were the only positive things in tonight's match !

Nope that was not a travel, the first 2 dribbles were part of the cross-over, you should start the count when he started to pick the ball with 2 hands, and that's only 1 step. He is just too quick.....

Yes, he is quick but the slow motion capture clearly shows that he travels.

Yes, he is quick but the slow motion capture clearly shows that he travels.

As I mentioned, you should start counting when he started to grab the ball with two hands, though it would seem he already grabbed the ball with 2 hands on his 2nd step (due to camera angle) but he didn't, hence, he only took 1 step.

Additionally, when you are on a motion to score, you are allowed at most 2 steps before you launch a shot, and with that said, he did not travel.

it 's not travel ,hr carries the ball.the do it all the time ,in an other mised dunk of Iguadola (i think ) he moves his feet 3-4 times but nothing .

That's true Mohsen, Brasil didn't play well, but Iran wasn't mentally ready to take advantage. Samad & Aidin would have helped a lot, Afagh playing instead of Davari and Zandi for ~30 min would have helped too

It was the most obvius traveling violation I ever seen. 3 steps while holding the ball. Clear enough.

It´s easy come from three point line for a dunk when you´re allowed to give one more step than everyone in the planet...

Let alone the fact that he was much more closer from a 4th step than the regular one.

LOL, you really cannot believe huh, it is truly amazing isn't it?.... The second picture is when he started to grab the ball with 2 hands, let's say that's the 1st step in the shot motion, the third picture is his 2nd step and he jumped for a dunk at that point.... no travelling .....

if you still can't believe it, a question for you, if the 1st step is the second picture, how can he take two or more steps to get to the third picture without going out of bounds? You think those are just "baby steps"? Of course not, those are hop steps (see http://www.wikihow.com/Do-a-Basketball-Hop-Step)
