I thought i created a thread about signings and rumours since the old one is lost. One of the most interesting threads imo. If someone is able to recover the old one, this one can be replaced.

Yey, my favourite topic has been reopened. :D

Ok, I'll post first romour...

Goran Dragič (192cm, 19y.o., PG), currently one of the best young point guards in Europe got offers from Real Madrid, Barcelona, TAU (His manager Filipovič said that he has 8 offers from big clubs) and other giants, he also got an offer from Union Olimpija, but his club Slovan wants 1mio€ buyout fee. :o

No! ;) He he visit only some friend's and some players (Jovo, Canak, Mamic?). This is the good old "we are one familiy" tradition in Berlin. Many former players visit Berlin one time in the year (especially european players).

And Berlin is always one travels worth :D

ah, ok. didn't know they knew each other. It is only logical to supose that though since he came out of an alba car. Berlin is the greatest. Do u live in Berlin?

I don't think there would be a need for that. The old thread was for the 2005-2006 season and was due to close in a couple of weeks' time (when the last pre-play-off transfers are made). So this thread can be the equivalent thread for the 2006-2007 season. Let's hope it reaches the size (and information) of the old thread, which was the longest thread in IBN's history.

As for Rumours. Out of nowhere there are rumors that the relationship between Messina and Papaloukas are not that great and that Real wants to take advantage of that and has already prepared a contract for the latter.

And a present-season transfer: Ch. Harissis of Olympiakos will sign this week a contract with Siena, just for the Italian ply-offs.

Some rumors say that David Bluthenthal is on his way back to Maccabi.
Also Yotam Halperin, If he won't be selected in the NBA Draft or will want to stay in europe, is going to Mccabi.

Some more rumors say that Nikola Vujcic won't continue in Maccabi (he's going to the Bulls or the Kings in the NBA) and some names came up such as : Lazaros Papadopoulos, Darjus Lavrinovic (or his brother), Robertas Javtokas, or David Andersen.

man you're rushing it.
beside bluth there is no actual news about what you've sad. halperin has a contract with maccabi for next season it is well known - basiclly he doesn't want to comeback but i think it's mostly because of the coach so if the coach will change (highly likely due to gershon intentions) he will at least consider it.
burstein and vujcic both has some offers but atm nothing is concreate.
as for vujcic replacements - those are just names of the same caliber that were being mentioned without even considering their contract situation and salary they are going to demend - as said before far from being concreate.

well... so far nothing that wouldn't come out of Kosarka.hr, B92, 24sec, eurobasket... and simmilar sites, nothing but speculations I'd say, and the season still hasn't ended so I doubt any of those is actually already discussing the possibilities with his manager, let alone manager discussing with clubs...

Jonas Jerebko, G, 204 cm, 19 yrs, of the Swedish second division team Borĺs/Marbo has turned down his college offers and instead signed with an agent. Real Madrid has, according to Aftonbladet, offered him a four year contract but sources says that both Barcelona and Benetton Treviso have made enquiries and Jonas is still weighting options from Liga teams Plannja and Sundsvall.

Jonas hesitation could be due to Rudy Mbemba(Gran Canaria) and Jonathan Robinsons (Malaga)experiences with Spanish teams as well as Olivie Illunga (Benneton Treviso)who struggled to find court time.

Sotitios Gioulekas of Nurnberg (voted member of the second best lineup of the german bundesliga) signed with Virtus Bologna for the play-offs with an option for an extention for next year.

Finally Christos Harissis of Olympiakos (he pleyed in the EL games only, after being signed from Apollon Patras mid-season) signed with Siena for the Italian play-offs.

there are some rumours that Besiktas and Turkish NT team point guard (also former Efes and Ulker player) Kerem Tunceri will join TAU.

he is having a wonderful season, Besiktas won twice against both Efes and Ulker with his leadership, and Besiktas is one of the main favourites for the title.

he is averaging 12.1 pts, 6.4 assists, 3.3 rebs per game this year. i just can say great all-round player. imagine a player that have will solomon's defensive ability, anthony parker's fadeaway jumpers, papaloukas' post-up plays, prigioni's pick&roll plays and jasikevicius' assist ability.

you are way too much exaggerating it. yes, every now and then he can do the things you said above, but never consistently. besides he's mentally weak.

Antonio Granger went to the USA due to an injury in his knee(?), and won't come back anytime this season. Henry Domercant was re-signed for TBL.

Aleksandrov had pretty terible injury (knee)...he was out of basketball court from March 2005 when he was operated in Washington, USA...as he is still young, I don't believe injury could jeopardise his career.

Players to watch in Super League are youngsters from Zeleznik (FMP) who are on loan at Borac...Labovic (http://nsl.kosarka.co.yu/Player.aspx?pPlayerID=0813598068#), Teodosic (http://nsl.kosarka.co.yu/Player.aspx?pPlayerID=0347999013) and Erceg (http://nsl.kosarka.co.yu/Player.aspx?pPlayerID=0212801095) (already played GYL this sesaon for FMP)...they are all the same '87 generation as Aleksandrov.

Concerning Dasic...he is even younger ('88)...great talent...Buducnost had huge problems to convince him to sign profesional contract before the start of this season...otherwse he would be on his way to Real for minimum fee decided by FIBA.

Sandi Čebular (196cm, 19y.o., SG/SF) today signed 3+1 years contract with Union Olimpija. Young and very talented guard was averaging 19.4ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.4spg, 2.3aspg - 28mpg (30g) in first Slovenian league for team named Alpos Kemplast Šentjur. He was league leading scorer. :D

If Domen Lorbek really signed the contract with Union Olimpija like Proph·et said (I really hope you are right :D), I assume there is no chance for Marino Baždarič to stay. :(

Dejan Hohler (188cm, 19y.o., PG) also signed the contract with Union Olimpija, but leight of his contract is still unknown. He was averaging 10.8ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.7spg, 2.1aspg - 26mpg (31g) in first Slovenian league for team named KK Rogla Zreče. He will be probably loaned I assume.

Proph·et
05-09-2006, 08:19 PM
And none of the players Olimpija signed is prepared to contribute on european stage (not even in GYL) next season (or in couple of seasons if we're pesimistic). When Cebular develops in player some expect him to be (not me, I saw him play more then once this season and I'm not so high on him) his contract will expire, because they signid him for only 3 seasons.

And Hohler is player coming from team that got relegated to 2nd devision, and his numbers are still quite poor considering lack of competiton on PG spot in Rogla. Think another Boris Jersin and possible loan to some 1.SKL team.

He's not enjoying Becirovic's system obviously, because coach is not giving him enough freedom in his game (he's not letting him call any plays), doesn't let him be more offense minded (he has some problems with self-esteem regarding his jumshot even though it has improved; I think his jumpshot is at least as good as Dragic's, but self-esteem is too much of a problem). I also think he has some motivation problems against low level teams in domestic league, so sometimes he play's with "I don't give a fuck" look on his face. But it's funny how coach let him play when his job was at risk; the EURO U20 finals scenario: go out there and get me victory. But concerning playmaking skills he's stil light-years ahead of Hohler in my opinion, he just needs a change of scenario (transfer to Slovan maybe) and an opportunity like one Dragic had in this season.

Any official news or just rumours? If that's true, I think Dragic made big mistake. Tau will probably loan Dragic to some worse club and he will likely dissapear like Marko Banic. If he will stay at TAU, he won't get playing time behind Prigioni and Ukic.

El Mundo Deportivo published one or two months ago a deal between Malaga and Girona to trade Vazquez to Malaga and Garbajosa to Girona. I laugh. I don't know what are you talking about. I think that Hermann has contract with Unicaja next season. This season he has been playing much better than the previous (this was easy) and I think that Unicaja won't let him going easily.

There have been no rumours this season about him yet, although apart from a possible interest of NBA teams, in Spain there will be many teams interested in him because of his spanish passport.

Bouroussis sounds like an ok move. Why Stack though? Doesnt make any sense, especially with Aris still in the game for the last Euroleague ticket. I guess this is the stuff of Fos only. Stack is indeed a really good match for Kazlauskas' team, because he runs the floor well, has the necessary range in his shot and is a good rebounder, but I seriously doubt he will leave Aris if the team makes it in the Euroleague next season.
Nikos Zisis seems as an even tougher case. I doubt that he will return to Greece anytime soon. He dislikes Greek A1 championships. I find it impossible.

Look for Olympiakos to chase an Arvydas Macijauskas-type of player. Go-to scorer, shooter guy. They also need to get rid of Hatzis, Harissis, Argyropoulos and maybe even Zizic if they want to build a stronger team for next year.

PG- Edney/Koljevic (if he wants to stay)/Papamakarios (for some stretches)
SG- Star high scoring SG/Seibutis/Papamakarios (for some stretches)
SF- Vasilopoulos/Barlos (Seibutis for smaller and running lineups)
PF- Good inside/outside PF/Printezis (Vasilopoulos/Barlos for smaller lineups)
C- Schortsanitis/Newly acquired C (very good rebounder and defender in the paint, needs to add some good post game, so if Bouroussis is acquired, he seems as a fair transfer)

so you're saying lewis will defently leave? that means (at least) one spot for an american. i heard ruben duglas will probably leave dynamo and he can be a good choice as a scorer.
anyhow - kazalauskas likes to play both edny and papamakrios and on the contrarty he uses vassilopolous as 4 most of the time (i have my own thoughts about it but still - that what he does - and i've seen some 15 games of oly this year...).
i don't see zizic leaving the team and i also think it won't be that much of a bad move for the team. i agree they need some more reliable big guy. javtokas kind of player but not neciserly him.
now since unlike you i don't see kaza' giving barlos and vasili' signficent minutes as 3 and i don't see seibutis playing this spot too mouch either i think it should be given another thought wheather a 3 should be signed too.

I don't really know the background of all this, but they're building a really nice arena, they're better with every year in euroleague and with the right aproach + financial background in the long run Prokom could become a good club...

Personally for me it was really funny when Prokom, after winning the Polish league, started talking about winning Euroleague or signing best European players like Lavrinovic.
They were not talking about winning an Euroleague, but about fighting for F4 in 3 years - they have waaaay long to go, but also they have a lot of space to improve as a organization and as a basketball team (starting with getting bigger money...)
And regarding top players names - it's more of journalist lack of knowledge and spreading false rumours, than approach by the club. Yesterday "Fakt" (polish tabloid) wrote that Prokom will be interested in Tripkovic and Perovic - you will believe about this too?

I know that players like Vujcić and Lavrinović are out of question, but if they would decide to overpay and show that Prokom will try to be a force in Europe, they can get players like Domercant or Kelly McCarty even now, and using names like this, build their recognition for even bigger signings somewhen down the road...

What will be with Szymon Szewczyk? If he didint re-sign with Olimpija he will sign with Anwil Wloclawek ... do you know something ?
Sagadin said through the season that he isn't counting on Szewcyk for the next season (he also had some issues with Szewcyk's working habbits- and that's a "death penalty" for any player he coaches), but right now Sagadin has been removed from the position of head coach and proclaimed as a candidate for coach (don't ask me...).
anyway you never know with Sagadin, he changes his opinion when least expected...

I think he is not very smart, at least he doesn't look very smart in most of the interviews I have seen. He barely can make any normal sentence (that's only my personal opinion, maybe there will be someone in this forum saying that Lavrinovic is genius). I know that lithuanian isn't his native tongue, but that should not be a factor which prevents him from saying something interesting. Anyway I really respect him as a player.

Also the important thing which could make Lavrinovic go to Unics, is his brother.

Ignerski play in Poland, again in Poland (like Goran Jagodnik - league star, who after 4 years leave Poland and sign in Russia), he want something new ... I think that ESP is very good place for Ignerski, and Caja is very good team for hm - he will be leader in this team, and he will play about 25-30 minutes in every game, in ACB - and this is veru good for young Ignerski :)

Kestas, pathetic is rather the proper description for your Russian-bashing all the time. The Russian clubs are on the rise and especially Unics, which has proven to be a very good team for a pretty decent period of time now. It also does play a major role in the Russian League, which at the moment is among the top 3 leagues in Europe. It isn't the fault of Russian clubs, that only two of them are playing in ULEB competitions, also strength-wise, they belong up there with at least the Italian clubs.
Players like Stombergas, which are on the downhill of their career can be quite lucky to earn big amounts of money playing for good clubs, like Unics Kazan.

Cüneyt Erden (PG – 1.85 – 1977), who has played for Ülker last season, is rumored to sign with Efes Pilsen. Ülker recently had some talks on a comprehensive sponsorship with Fenerbahçe, which includes the alienation of Ülker roster (players with contracts) and Euroleague contract (ULEB will decide that) to Fenerbahçe, though nothing is officially announced yet.

Erden, who has been a decent back-up PG for Ülker all season, had stepped up in the TBL Finals and became the go-to guy for struggling Ülker offence in crunch time and became a major factor for the TBL title. The free agent averaged 8.7 pts, 1.7 rbs, 2.7ast and 2.0stl shooting 50% behind the Arc in 24.00 minutes in the Finals against Efes.

well, I don't know in which Vilnius region u are living, but I can assure u that in Vilnius city it is not true. Your are denying that in Lithuania exists national minorities? Polish and Russian nationality people amount to 50% in Vilnius city. they talk Polish and Russian languages, they go to Polish and Russian schools. "Polonized" in past people we can seperate by surnames. do u know any Lithuanian surname "Lavris", "Lavras" or smthng? quite in contrary about always staying in Panathinaikos as he claimed... so that would be hard to believe unless Pao actually wants to replace him badly...

BIG contradiction: Maccabi didn't pay 1 mio € for Šaras, Vujčič or Parker (correct me if I'm wrong) and overall Maccabi is known as a team that isn't throwing money away for no reason and is acting economical. and suddenly they're about to offer 1 mio € to Lakovič, while one of the richest clubs as Pao can't match the offer- or even better in their most important season hosting F4 can't pay more than 740.000 €? I don't really buy it...

I wouldn't be that sure about this news though, since it's known Maccabi is searching for a PG and so far I've heard stuff about Scoonie Penn, Goran Dragič or Beno Udrih returning to Maccabi this offseason... media are sometimes overhypeing things, in european bball it's kind of hard to get the "right rumours" so media keeps on guessing all the time...

Well, it's just a media report, nothing official. I'm not so sure if it's the truth either (actually I'm rather sceptical). If it's true though it'd mean that PAO doesn't want to keep him by all means, money isn't a problem this season with the F4 being in Athens. PAO is said to have offered 1.5 Million Euro per season to Vujcic and there's a new perimeter player supposed to join the team as well, along with another big man.
Kalaitzis, Femerling and Scepanovic will leave the team, so there'll be 3-4 new players on the roster for next season.

Tell me, how soccer clubs are being financed in Italy, for example? Why do they have so big debts?
The financing of major Russian sports clubs comes with the new regional and financial elites chipping in, whether they like this particular sport or see the sponsoring as kind of prestige thing.

As to the political climate in Russia, there is nothing to argue about. It isn't democratic, much more authoritarian. But it has pretty nothing to do with sports. Before talking about such topics, look at players going to totally non-democratic countries, Russia is a pluralistical paradise in comparison.

Maccabi Tel Aviv sign contract with David Bluthental, who play in Bolonian "VidiVici". Maccabi pay "VidiVici" about 700000 Euro, becouse Bluthental still have contract with Italian team. Maccabi want also in next season Nicola Vujcic - they give him 1mln Euro, but Panathinaikos give him 1.5mln Euro (!).

Bluthenatal's buy-out is only 70.000 Euro, Not 700.000 .
In Israel, No Media Have Published this rumour/fact, Strange, But there was one sport site that said that Maccabi is interested in returning Bluthantal back after it heard about is buy-out.

I really hope that this is just another stupid media rumour, signing a 36-year old unreliable guy with a bad temper, who didn't play ball for a year and who demands insane money (2.5 Million Dollars per season) doesn't sound like a good idea to me...

Wouldn't want sprewel in pao either. Spending 2,5 million for a 36 year old is a big mistake imo. U can buy enough other players for that kind of money...

What the hell is with REAL?!?!?!

They wanna buy all NBA prospects from Europe...Marko Tomas last year, now Dragic and Savas...they also already bought Bojan Bogdanovic, one of most talented kids in Europe - he was loaned to his home-club this season.

How can all those kids get playing time in club as REAL?!...this is insane...only few of them will then get a chance to develope and majority will be ruined.

Maljkovic, stop the devastation of balkan region!!!...also TAU is no better...those spanish teams are now buying everyone that has a p of prospect in them...it is insane!...they are no better than NBA taking over the best european players.

He has couple of offers “on the table” and will decide very soon where he will continue his career. Sagadin will refuse any offer from non-EL team, while he is saying he is only interested in teams able to compete for EL title, the only way he won't refuse an non- EL team is by showing EL like amibitions. Also Sagadin never was a cheap coach, earning 200.000 € per season is practically a minimum for him, while with all his demands for the club organization, buyouts for players, infrastructure, staff and the rest his "200.000" are a piece of change... so he is much more expensive than only his salary might indicate...

Matiz - Polish newspapers are getting info like this straight from Director of Anwil Zbigniew Polatowski, who likes to use press, to help him making Anwil look good (much better than they really are). He usually sells crap, just like now with Sagadin, Filipovski and Pipan.

Situation with Prokom and press is a little bit different - after Prokom sponsor spoke publicly about his plans, journalists are trying to guess who can be signed by them - and since they only know guys like Vujcic, Domercant, etc..., they are putting their names in articles, without any knowledge about realistic chances to get players like them to be signed.
