And not to forget: 4 Turnovers. Just joking, Gortat is becoming a solid contributor for Cologne.
It was a record-setting gameday, as Trier's Off Guard Tommy Adams netted 40 points (7 threes) against Nürnberg, while Leverkusen Playmaker John Goldsberry got 10 Steals and 8 Assists in their easy win over Karlsruhe.
Bonn against Giessen, the game I visited, was a defensive-minded display. Both teams lacked inspiration and had huge struggles on offense.
Postive surprises so far are the newcomers Paderborn and Ulm. Having kept their 2nd-Division leaders and added some pieces to the puzzle, they seem to be able to keep pace in this league. They seem to be much more of a unity at this point of time, than other teams.
Negative surprise is definitely EWE Baskets Oldenburg, a club that is said to have the fourth, if not the third highest budget in the BBL. Point Guard Carl Krauser has been a huge disappointment, unable to lead the team and taking ill-advised shots (11/45 from the floor).
Ludwigsburg, Quakenbrück and Bonn have had good starts into the season (Ludwigsburg and Quakenbrück are high-scoring teams, Bonn more defensive-minded), but it remains to be seen whether or not they are able to succeed in the later stages of this season.

I hate to be a "told you so" but I think I am right about this one.
