I am taking the 1st steps to starting a new franchise. As most of u probably know i live in Athens now.
I am going to put an application in to the Federation for entering a team in the 4th category Athens league next season.
This application must have 20 names on it (signatures).
So if you are interested in playing or know people who play contact me.
If perhaps u don't want to play and just love basketball and like the idea of being involved or helping in some way, let me know also.
Or even ideas on what your opinion might be would also be helpful.
I am quite excited about the prospect of winning promotion and moving up in categories.
If this application was accepted i will setting up coaching for kids which would be payed.
I have already have access to lawyers.

Team name is a small detail at moment but i would be willing to listen to suggestions.

No offense man, but with these kind of names the team is going to attract loads of spectators, simply to throw eggs at them. :p :D

Even common names like animal names (e.g Tigers, Bulldogs, etc) will be frowned upon and laughed at in Greece (or anywhere in the Balkans).

i really really love the idea of a kilt striped jersey. kinda reminds me of my favorite jersey of all time (croatia football jersey)

like the jersey idea, the kilts on court i highly suggest not unless your form of intimidation on defense is close body contact.

Remember my fantasy team last year (Caledonian Brick Throwers)? They had a tartan jersey :D. Unfortunately my post with the photo was lost after April's breakdown.

Ok guys, here is the latest.
I have been coaching the team at the American College of Greece.
I am about to approach the Director of sports over there and ask if we can play on there court.
Do any of you Greek guys go to that college and are any of you interested in helping me with the new team. I believe i have 10 players who will play.
Maybe you know players who might want to play or maybe you can help with training or managerial stuff.

Small point you might be interested in-this is the court the USA trained in when they where here for the Olympics..:cool:

I don't think anyone from here goes there, unless their parents are either millionaires or a Party President :P
