If Jenkins fouls out in 3rd minute, than anything is possible...
GROUP B
Unicaja - Partizan 55-45
you can't predict who'll win on this game, I mean Unicaja is playing tottally under their capabilities not really caring for euroleague obviously, and Partizan can't win on the road (except when playing Olimpija). Unicaja'+s quality should prevail... but that's definately a game that would be at the low end of my "want to watch list"...
Cibona - Lottomatica Roma 60-40
Cibona always plays good on their home court, even if they don't have any audience at all... I think they should prevail...
Union Olimpija - DKV Joventut 40-60
Olimpija's rotation of 7 players is just too short to have chances to win... if at least Kuzminskas would be able to play some solid minutes, Arslan would get back to his old shape and Zupan case would be finally solved that's another story than... otherwise Joventut's centers will be abusing Olimpija, the way Vujčič did the last game... not neccesarily with triple double, but they 'll have some decent double-doubles...
Panathinaikos - Maccabi Elite 65-35

I m I the only one who thinks that PAOs game versus maccabi will be a tough one. I understand why people see PAO as the favorite but 65-35?
I mean it kind of like an old time classic.
we usually meet maccabi in fainal 4 and it s always a great game.
And I expect nothing less from that one.
Hope we win but I have to say I m quite nervous about this one:D

Panathinaikos - Maccabi Elite 55-45 PAO is better right now but big teams like Maccabi are always an important opponent

Truth is Maccabi is not in a good way. PAO on the other hand with the help of the fans are a challenge for the best of teams in Athens.
A Maccabi win would really suprise me.

I am torturing my head with what exactly makes Unicaja so average... without any success so far. When you think of their lineup a person would expect a much better game, their game doesn't look bad at all, they are playing some good defense and yet... they're average
Partizan lacks a PG badly, with Avdalović, Popović or even Jeretin I believe this would be a totally different team...

What a bunch of losers. The reason they lost is they were afraid of the name "CSKA". All Ülker had to do is to trust itself and ignore whichever team is the opponent. CSKA is too good for Ülker. I mean their team play is great. If you look individually, maybe they are not better. But team play is what is important in basketball.

Fener lost, but I liked their challenge this time. If Örs did not insist on zone defense in the 3rd quarter, it could be different. 4 pointers in a row brought CSKA to life. Anyway, losing to CSKA is understandable. However, they must keep this level of fighting.
And, Eddie Basden is a perfect addition.

man to man defence was ok in the first half then surprisingly ulker switched to zone defence in the third quarter, and smodis-holden duo killed them.
with an idiot like aydin ors on the bench, a dumb like kutluay on the field, this team can never reach its real potential.

i agree with you but the players missing were not 2.were 3.sofo wasn't going to play although he was in the roster.also the 2 of thee 3 players missing were point guards so we had only one for this game(penn).
in all those don't forget that in the budget we count also mace with his 2.2 mil but he is not playing!
i am not saying that it was a great achievment that we beat koln even with 9 players but it was a game that lot of us were afraid of because of those reasons!

We may have been less powerfull inside the basketball court the recent years but we were distracted winning european and domsetic titles in all other sports.
One thing remains a fact though. Olympiacos has returned either you like it or not.

Indeed. In fact coach Obradovic (Sasha) commented on that, saying that once more it felt like an away game (the other time(s) being against Efes and even probably Prokom (?)). I think there were 1000 red fans in the arena, and they were clearly audible, even through the TV.
and speaking of cologne - i have to say a word in favor of gortat. i realy like his attitude. if only sczweyk (whom i think is more talented) had this attitude he'd be a legitimate EL player. gortat likes contact, he's very phisical and uses his body very well. he's not the best post-up player i've seen but he compensate it by fighting. big-boddied centers are becoming rare nowdays, and gortat as he seemed to me can become a good center for EL level.
and btw - i officaly offer the nickname "baby-duenas" to bourousis...

Cibona is overall playing better than Roma, but they screw it all up with sloppy TO's... and because of Bodiroga show of course.

I really don't see it that way. In the first Quarter the calls were going more Dynamos way but in the 2nd Quarter Efes got quite some love from the refs and I could understand Ivkovic when he yelled at the refs after the last scene. Imo it's a pretty fair deal overall though so far...

I thought I wrote that down, but obviously forgot, he really impressed me so far. He is playing like he played some 10 EL games before and seems he has everything under control, the same way he played for Železnik eventhough this is a 2 levels better competition.
he'll be terrific with some more experience.
Monya didn't get some offensive attention, but he is playinggreat in defense... I especially loved that block on Haislip, while I haven't noticed anyone nailing the shot over his hands...

It can be my Efes glasses ofcourse. But the only call that was dubious imo was the last one yes. I couldn't see any other critical which favoured Efes. Anyway we'll see how this game develops. Off to the TV :D

I am back from the sports hall in Kaunas, and it is one of these cases when you feel you should have won, but some natural forces took the victory from you...
The only thing I know is I am sick and tired of the referees treating Zalgiris as if it was playing in some Barca court...
Such refereeing is simply a disgrace and disrespect to smaller clubs. Sometimes one felt as if it was personal referees' ambition - they three winning over the crowd.
Is it only me, or the level of refereeing in the ULEB is going down every year????

Ref's were hilarious through the whole game for both teams, but 1 minute remaining Fernandez knocks Arslan down from behind, no foul called, the ball out of bounds, ball to Joventut... awesome... I've played in Slovenian 3rd league and I thought I saw it all... untill now
the way Joventut was playing today, they'd get demolished by Bosna in Sarajevo, while I'm thinking about if Slovan might actually have a chance to win this one...

tragic defence was main reason why they lost not those ---- refferees.
refferees mistakes is part of the game. put this in your head. you will always see mistakes from them. they aren't robots. they also made some calls in which zalgiris benefited.
Yeah, they're not robots.
But in some cases it was clear that that wasn't a misteke. How can you not see the ball hitting French player's hand before going out of bounds when you stand wright in front of him?

Well done, french teams are better this year.:) I'm pleased. Perhaps we'll have a team in the top 16.
Other thing, I'm surprised from maccabi team, I was sure they'll lose by at least 15 points. Their best match since a long time.

Don't get me started because you'll make me watch the whole game making a list of the times the refs incorrectly called against PAO and I will have to hire a secretary for a week to type them up.
From what I saw(about 1/3 of the game-the final one) the refs made quite a few mistakes against both teams.I don't think they determined the winner. It was a couple of Diamantidis' plays during the last minutes and the bad decision of Maccabi not 2 foul immediately with the score 89-88 15'' before the end...

how?
they have to watch other 9 players in the court.
ball touches player for 1/10 of a second.
i would say how the hell they manage to see everything?

I agree with you. The referees were not that bad. They did make some questionable decisions, but mostly theywere ok and let the teams play, which is something that european referees tend not to do. There are too many games that are just impossible to watch cuz the zebras whistle like there is no tomorrow.

That is very nice to hear, but I'm afraid it will take one damn good new american and a career year of Burstein, not to say he is not even back yet and it's questionable if he can even play like he did in the past ;)

Refferee, who is in front of the ball should watch the ball (and he did). Other two refs should watch other nine players. ;)

I’m very very surprised to hear these comments. I would say that the refereeing was ludicrous. but radically in favour of the home team. It’s certainly shocking to see somebody stating the opposite.

You will see that :D Prokom lost last 7 games with Efes, so now is time to beat they! Prokom now is on fire, they play good games in EL and also in Polish league, so you can expect very hard game for Efes ...
Now every game is very important for Prokom - we must play in TOP16 :) !!!
thats why i love Maccabi. what a great game! Can you imagine this team with Burstein and a new american?wow!Still the best team in euroleague.
wake up you are dreaming
Talking about Zalgiris - Pau-Orthez, someone should shut up those fans in Kaunas Hall. It seems they got too excited with all that "f.. you referee" going on. Why the hell did they do that even after the smallest questionable episodes?
Now back to more fun things. I really enjoyed Olimpija - Juventut game. Actually I think it's historical that we were watching 16 year old kid playing the decisive minutes in Juventut. Milic was a pleasure to watch, especially knowing that I have him on my fantasy team. ; - )
Everyone complains about referies.Zalgiris,Olympia,Maccabi,Pao and some other teams. My opinion is to go further and not talking about it.Look your team and their potencial otherwise you are closing your eyes against the failures of your teams and not trying to get better and find the soluttion of the problems.Yes maybe some referies are idiots but noone said that in a game everything will be fair. You must fight against difficult circumstances. And for the teams that have a lead of 12+ points the referies decisions are not the responsible factor of judging a game but your teams performance.
Yesterday game PAO vs Maccabi was one of the europe classic games.I was sure that will be a close match because even if Maccabi has not the best team of the last ten years has a heavy shirt. And these kinds of games are always derby.Great atmosphere from 14.000 people inside the arena.Sometimes you couldnt here anything just whistles from the funs.Incredible atmosphere again.
PAO didnt play well in the defence while was very good offencensivly.Maccabi had their best game i think this season. Its not for luck that every PAO fan respect this team.

?
referees had to do a lot of compensations during the games and yes refereeing was bad for both sides, but 3rd or 4th Ranniko's foul was completely ridiciolus, Arslan being knocked down was one of the decisive plays of the game, it's easy to play with a 16 years old, nevermind the talent (he definately has one) when he is protected in defense as Alaska white bears.
otherwise I don't wan to sound this as an excuse I know we lost due to our own stupidity... no doubt about it. If someone who's supposed to be the euro Reggie Miller shoots 1/6 from 3 pointers, and some of those when he is clear opened, that kind of explains it (god damned, Lorbek wtf are you doing at practices???). Arslan is also dissapointing so far, I think he had enough time after the injury, missed 2 3 pointers in a row in the last minute along with some incredible wrong passes... Rizvič, 1 sec to go, passes to Sullivan for a dunk... maaan
1. apperntly i was wrong. uleb havn't introduced the video-replays to it's regular season games (yet). it only applies in the final 4. mmm... with the intensity of EL games and the relative small number of games along with the fact they basiclly agree with running a video check, i don't see why not apply it on the regular games as well...
2. bottom line for maccabi-pao game - it wasn't decided by refs though there were some mistakes in both sides. pao should've hit the free throws down the stretch which they didn't and maccabi shouldn't have lost the ball in a set offense. but it was an exclent game. very phisical (and hence hard to officate), very intense. some nice moves (maccabi alley oops', batiste's dunks, some nice blocks). a thriller towards the end. so all in all - it was a good euroleague game and a very exciting game to watch with very different quarters. i'd recomnd to download it and watch it.

Yeah nice game last night, i was there. Panathanikos v Maccabi.
1st real game Panathanikos have had and i thought they showed how deep they are on the bench, winning with a few players missing. Batiste is playing with a lot of confidence and looks real good. Maccabi are a very good side and pushed Panathanikos all the way. Buzzer did go off before the shot was released and a few bad calls where made over the course of the game, particularly from the same ref.

What a game from Milic!
I didn't watch the game, but from the statistics it seems that he was playing alone against Joventut!
Can anyone that actually watched the game help me because i have one question?
I have him in my fantasy team and while checking his stats i noticed something very ineresting!
Milic had 15 2p attempts (almost half 2p attempts of the whole team) in this game and he received only 2 fouls in more than 30 min he played
That seemed strange to me so i checked his statistics in the previous games!
vs MTA he tried 13 2p and got 7 fouls (away game).
vs Partizan 11 2p - 6 fouls (home game)
vs Malaga 7 2p - 3 fouls (away)
vs PAO 11 2p - 5 fouls (home)
vs Roma 8 - 4 fouls (home)
vs Cibona 5 - 4 fouls (away)
vs Joventut 13 - 2 fouls (home) . Normally he should get 6-8 fouls and give me 36-38 fantasy points.
So it was the way he played or referees attitude towards Milic?

Ofcourse he knows better. In that F4 was the time Maariv (Israeli newspaper) was telling the Israeli public to go to the Yad Eliaou and see the crazy fans of Panathinaikos.
Anyway, you should know that for someone to be copying you (like Maccabi fans do us) then you must be pretty good. Don't forget us still singing in both 94 and 95 F-4'S although we had lost we still kept on singing throughout.

Who makes the most noise during games?
Who causes the most trouble?
Who follows the team through the bad and the good?
Who follows the team on the road and everywhere?
What-i'm curious to know what you all consider the best fans of a sports team to be?
These are just possible things that you might consider to be the best fans in the world. These are not all my opinion.
