Second Argentinian player among the best in Spain

The forward, joined Pablo Prigioni among the chosen for the ideal quintet of "Spanish ACB league". A de luxe season for players of Tau Cerámica.

Luis Scola, Tau Cerámica player, was chosen as the best forward of "Spanish ACB league" and became the only player in forming part of the ideal quintet in the last three editions disputed.

Scola joined the argentinian point guard Pablo Prigioni (Tau Cerámica), Juan Carlos Navarro (W. FC Barcelona), Carlos Jiménez (Adecco Estudiantes) and the forward Jorge Garbajosa (Unicaja), whom he surpassed in the choosing.

In the voting in which coaches of 18 teams of the league participated, the olympic champ left behind Sitapha Savané (Gran Canaria Dunas), Thiago Splitter (Tau Cerámica), Lou Roe (Caja San Fernando), Curtis Borchardt (C.B. Granada) and Michalis Kakiouzis (W. FC Barcelona).

Furthermore, the best internal of Spanish League (Scola) had been chosen member of ideal quintet of the Euroleague and second Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition, behind the North American Anthony Parker.

The former Ferro(Argentinan Basketball club) player had been the prizewinner of MVP last season in the ACB League. Scola plays in Spain since 1998. In his arrival to Europe he booked/enrolled with Gijón, but since the year 2000 plays for Tau, team with which he obtained a League (2001-2002) and two "Copas del Rey" (2001-2002 y 2003-2004).

This year, the argentinian averages 16.7 ppg, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assistances, 1.2 steals.

I agree with you, I like Oberto, he's a good player, but.... I can't understand that Spurs choice, Oberto instead Scola............. in fact, I have already written something about this question before...... but besides I like him very very very much, I hope this season he gets a good contract with another NBA team and shows them who he is....

Its the best league in SouthAmerica and has a decent level. The best players are:

Leo Gutierrez (6'8" PF) MVP in the last two Leagues and member of the Olympic team that won the gold medal.

Paolo Quinteros(6'2" SG), great scorer, undersized but very fast, seems that will link a contract in the Italian Lega next season, member and scoring leader of the Argentinian "B" NT which is playing the SouthAmerican Championship.

Sebastian Ginobili (6' 3" PG) Manu's older brother, also in the Argentinian "B" NT.

Roman Gonzalez (6'10" C)

Gabriel Mikulas (6'7" PF) a sort of smaller Luis Scola who won the bronze medal at the Junior WC with the Argentinian NT along Scola, Delfino and Kammerichs.

Diego Garcia (6'3" SG) Argentina "B" NT

Antonio Garcia (from the Panamanian NT), also Dionisio Gomez and Jair Peralta from the Panamanian NT.

Sebastian Rodriguez (6'4" PG)

Pedro Calderon (6'11" C) Argentina "B" NT

Bruno Labaque (5'11" PG)

and some others, some good foreigners like Joe Bunn

That's interesting. How come none of these guys play for Argentina then? And are any of them planning to go to Europe like other Argentine basketball stars?

Sabastian Ginobili is 33 years old, so I doubt. Manu also have another brother - Leandro, which was also a profesional basketball player, but he retired (36 years old).

Bulfoni and Quinteros BASIC for Leon's success at LEB Cup. They played so well to win the second league Cup against Lobos Cantabria.

Mikulas is going to Antwerp(Belgium) for 2 years. He really has to play bigg minutes for them cause hey don't have a good back-up.He'll play uleb so he has a chance to prove himself.
Can anybody say anything about this guy? Wich level in Europe could he play?

I think he is good enough to play in LEB or LegaDue. Even being too short, he is a very good low post scorer who also has a decent mid-range shot and is good at free-throws. But, also, he can adapt to be a team player because he is a pretty good passer for an inside player.

Well, it's hard to say that any player from LNB can jump to ACB or Lega and play well immediately. Even guys like Ginóbili, Scola and Nocioni had to play in second divisions to prove themselves before making that leap.
