Probably after the FIBA Asia Championship or maybe after all the Olympic Qualifying tournaments (not just in Asia) are finished!

72. Indonesia INA 2.0
72. Singapore SIN 2.0The first few spots are somewhat acceptable

#41 KSA --- all i remember is 10-98 against Yao-less China team in 2005... what happened to the excellent core of players that finished 3rd in 1999?

#44 Uzbekistan --- pretty quiet in recent years

Hong Kong and Malaysia over Kazakhstan, Jordan and Philippines.

I assume Mongolia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Krygyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Maldives, Burma, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Oman, Palestine, Vietnam, Macau and Brunei are tied at 0.0 points. And why is Bahrain ranked ahead of Indonesia and Singapore despite having the same points?

Alphabetical order is the only thing that occurs to me.

I definitely think this ranking will be changed....

look out for the The blue, red and white with the 3 stars and a sun flag... they were in the bottom right? Because we are suspended to compete.... :)

Watch out for the blue-red-white with 3 stars and a sun flag....

They are our Pride! :D

Definitely, the rankings will change. It's not that I'm talking biased but I think Philippines has a great possibility of making it to the top since SMCT has greatly improved and is doing a great job in international basketball games. I just hope their performance would continue and flourish for the upcoming and anticipated FIBA Asia Championship. [/size]

Just to show how rankings are computed......

How it works?

FIBA has created a ranking for national teams. You will find below all the necessary information on how the FIBA Ranking is calculated.

Please note that the FIBA Ranking is mainly used for promotional purposes. It may be used at FIBA's discretion for sports related decisions.

FIBA also reserves the right to change the ranking calculation system at any time without previous notification.

* FIBA is using the country name "Yugoslavia" for historical reasons. During the cycle we use to calculate the FIBA ranking, it wasYugoslavia that participated in the FIBA competitions.

1. Event selection and weight

Event name Weight

2 FIBA World Championships (Men or Women) 5
2 Olympic Basketball Tournaments (Men or Women) 5
2 FIBA U19 World Championships (Men or Women) 1
2 FIBA U21 World Championships (Men or Women) 1
2 FIBA Africa Championships (Men or Women) 0.2
2 FIBA Americas Championships (Men or Women) 0.8
2 FIBA Asia Championships (Men or Women) (Men or Women) 0.3
2 FIBA Europe Championships (Eurobasket) (Men or Women) 1
2 FIBA Oceania Championships (Men or Women) 0.1

2. Competition Ranking Scoring System

Rank Weight

Gold medal 50
Silver medal 40
Bronze medal 30
4th place 15
5th place 14
7th place 13
8th place 12
9th place 11
10th place 10
11th place 9
12th place 8
13th place 7
13th place 6
14th place 5
15th place 4
16th place 3
17th place 2
18th place + 1

The ranking is calculated within the scope of a 2 Olympic Games cycle. Here are the number of competitions that are taken into account:

2 FIBA World Championships
2 Olympic Basketball Tournaments
2 FIBA U19 World Championships
2 FIBA U21 World Championships
5 FIBA Africa Championships
5 FIBA Americas Championships
5 FIBA Asia Championships
5 Eurobasket Championships
5 FIBA Oceania Championships

Whenever a new championship is played the oldest championship of that category drops out. The FIBA Ranking is then recalculated.
