Coach Bobby Knight and Coach Ton Boot gave a great clinic in Leiden (The Netherlands)about basketball fundamentals, player mentality and attitude. About 350 coaches attended the 4 hour day session.
The evening session supposed to be an a seminar dinner about motivation and team building for coaches and business managers. It didn't go as planned when a NOS reporter( from the dutch leading sports channel) irritated Coach Knight earlier that day by only interviewing about and highlighting the outbursts coach Knight had in the past. Coach Knight had agreed to the interviews with the agreement that such topics wouldn't be brought up. The organization and NOS failed to apply with this simple request. Which ended up that Coach Knight left the seminar dinner earlier then planned.
The hot news spread around fast. The whole ordeal was broad casted on the Dutch National NOS channel 21th of April at 22.30. Also against clear wishes from Coach Knight.
