I think I had never seen such a fight in a basketball game, I'm speechless.

This is unbelievable. I can't believe those guys started chasing them around with chairs!

I recognize Romel Beck...he seems to be one of the main instigators. Anyone else we might know?

Mexico and Uruguay are both in Group A during the Tournament of the Americas, and are set to play again in the final game of the qualifying round Sunday, August 30th, 2009.

You might know Horacio Llamas and Lorenzo Mata-Real who played for UCLA a couple years ago. Was Batista playing for Uruguay during the melee?

What the hell, I was expecting a regular Basketball fight but they were chasing each other over the arena and flinging chairs at each other.

How can I take FIBA seriously unless they give some serious suspensions for this?

    1: Brazil is always disappointing
2: Never dismiss Argentina solely because of age.
3: Never bet against Spain in a knockout game, unless it is against the US.

repercussions are going to be crazy. Suspensions all around, for extended periods I bet.

Che estoy de acuerdo mi hermano argentino! lol

Uruguayans whether it's basketball or football they always seem to be sore loosers and to chuck up a fight.

My first local football game (division 6) had a fight which involved one of my mates. Gosh, the reason for the fight was ridiculous.

In addition, after we lost to Brazil in the 2007 Copa America, the Uruguayans had to start up a push and shove.

you guys are already whining without even knowing what's going on.

FIBA AMERICAS announced that there will be sanctions for both teams in 2010, and not now, so it won't interfere with The FIBA Americas Championship.
