LOL according to a friend of mine who's in Puerto Rico, Julio Toro, the Dominican NT coach, spit on Tuto Marchand's face when they told the Dominican NT that they weren't allow to join the other teams in the Ceremony

A general rule of thumb in all sports is do not give one of the better teams added motivation. Now the DR can play the no respect card, and possibly unite under it. It'll be interesting to see if it helps any.

Man, there is a lot craziness going down leading up to the Americas Championship... so much crazy drama involving naturalization, all-out brawls, passports, NBA teams pulling their players out, ceremonies, protests and appeals... all in the last month.

and don't forget the mexico in the tournament controversy, USA completely dropping it, Mexico unable to host, and Cuba dropping out entirely in the months leading up to this. Crazy year for the Americas.

What was the Mexico in the tournament controversy?

Maybe it's just overreported, but after following the Afrobasket and Asiabasket, there just seems to be so much more "news" following the Americas.

Oh that they didn't qualify from Centrobasket, and them being awarded the tournament was off purely financial reasons. There's a thread around it somewhere.

    LOL

and what does that have to do with their Moms being kicked out of the Ceremony
The ceremony was to present the teams, not the teams family
if he dont like how he is being treated, he should watch what he says in the interviews.

Knowing that Julio Toro is the puppetmaster, im inclined to think that this is all a Julio Toro's creation trying to motivate the DR team.

Yeah, brazilian coach Moncho apparently is complaining about the organization, the time available to practice, the accomodations and the food.

No one really cares about a writter, but apparently the players and coaches are not happy with the tournament.

seems like Dominicans and Brazilians aren't welcom in PR.

I wonder what the other teams have to say about the Puerto Rican's hospitality so far
