Default Day 3, Group B : Panama vs. Venezuela

Panama had a nice game in their first outing but came up short while Venezuela drubbed Argentina but fell to Brazil for a 1-1 card.

Panama made a respectable effort against Dominican Republic but can they upset Venezuela?

Venezuela should win pretty easily. They had one bad quarter against Brazil otherwise pretty much matched them

But what about Panama? Would you say they are Argentina/V. Islands-bad in this tournament?

Panama off to a great start 22-12 after the 1st.
The Rules learned in the Prediction game.
    1: Brazil is always disappointing
2: Never dismiss Argentina solely because of age.
3: Never bet against Spain in a knockout game, unless it is against the US.

I picked Venezuela to beat Panama, but Im rooting for Panama to win the game for three reasons:

    1) Panama is from centrobasket
    2) Historically, Puerto Rico and Panama have been the best two teams of centrobasket history, so they are obligated to do good even if they came in as a late replacement.
    3) The NT coach, David Rosario, is puerto rican.

Wait, Puerto Rico i assume has a Puerto Rican head coach. Then i've heard Dominican Republic as well and now, Panama too? (Correct me if i am mistaken)

i think that is never heard from any region??! i am cheering for the trio of teams to qualify for FIBA Worlds then! Way to represent!

Yep, and it would have been 4 had Venezuela hired puerto rican coach Flor Melendez who led a venezuelan team to a championship in their league last season.

Ironically, with all of the great coaches we have, some say we need to get an european coach.

I would trade Manolo for Eddie Casiano.

    Great info! Thanks, man!

(We'd be civil until the Cotto-Pacquiao tiff in November, eh? )

Why this teams are in this tournament...I haven't see more terrible offense for years.I want to kill myself.Where is Venezuela from matches with Argentina and Brazil, the great offensive team, not this bad side..Hope to wake up during second half.

    26 pts for Venezuela
    11 from free throw
I want to ask why they live? They must kill themselves after this match.I watced a lot of poor sides but this team probably is the bigest amateur I had ever seen.Terrible defense, stupied offense with idiot who made only turnovers.I can't see how they will past 60 pts with this game. They are so bad..And so stupied..

1st half and panama is playing ok and winning by 13 , but they are committing some mistakes and have to take care of it, like the bench making to many fouls so easy that give venezuela and advantage with 5 minutes left in the clock.

Not really, Cotto will kill Pacquiao and we will still be undefeated against the Phillippines in title fights.

But really I am forever thankful to the Phillipines and Manny Pacquiao for keeping mexicans in check until we'd get another talent in the lower divisions.

What a great move by Rosario. His pg was doing bad, so he took him out and Panama increased the lead without a real pg on the court. How strange is that?
