Wow, maybe you should fix your grammar first before saying anything against other posters here. What do you mean "sence"? it's sense Also, it's not insist. It's supposedly "insists" since Japeth is singular

force? It's forced. Jesus, whatever happened to basic English, pfft

Going back to topic, looks like Japeth or shall I say MVP has made his decision. He probably doesn't want to start a rift with Alvarez so he had to tell Aguilar to sign. Politics even in basketball, it's disgusting

So the contract will just be for one conference? If it is, the trade-to-TNT scenario could be true. Either that, or BK will let him go after one conference. After all, they still hold the rights to Japeth for two years after the draft.

Not exactly the ending most people would've wanted, but definitely a win-win situation for both BK and Japeth. Still, these are all mere speculations.

BK cannot have a direct trade with TNT because they are sister team. who do you think will be the conduit team?

I'm thinking it could be one of the non-SMC teams. Still, I won't say anything more until the contract is signed, the ink is dry, and the fine print comes to light. I suggest you all do the same para masaya.

They didn't say any details about the Contract. Alvarez said MVP played a big role why Japeth will play for BK. Okay, let's wait for Sir Nardy. I know he will post something to clear this up.

True I hope Sir Nardy can post something about it. It's really depressing. Haay I feel like Filipinos like Alvarez have absolutely have no regard for the national interest. Shame on the PBA. It's really so sad. We Filipinos screw ourselves over and over again. That's why nothing good happens to this country of ours. Hayop ka Alvarez!!!!

Poor kid. Never agreed with how he went about his dealings with the PBA, but this just goes to show that blackmail wins the day.

According to NBN's Snow Badua (just a few minutes ago). Japs will play for BK when its playing Gilas but will play for Gilas when its playing other teams. The reason being Japs will have two contracts (the one for BK is supposed to be signed tomorrow). If you are confused as to how this will work out, so am I. So yes we have to wait for Sir Nards for clarification on this.

That sounds exhausting. To all other posters please refrain from bashing anyone linked with this saga. Remember there are two sides in a story.

    ‘The best of both worlds’

Alvarez, however, said that he is offering the former Ateneo standout the “best of both worlds”.

“I’m giving him the best of both worlds, it’s basically double or nothing. If he signs up with us, I will allow him to play for Smart-Gilas team. He will have the opportunity to get a contract from the PBA, he will get another contract from Smart-Gilas,” said the PBA chairman.

If Japeth agrees to the arrangement, said Alvarez, he could earn a total of P60 million in his lifetime.

“At this point in time, PBA is offering a maximum [monthly salary’s worth] of P150,000 for the first year P225,000 for the second year and P337,500 for the third year. With Smart-Gilas, knowing the generosity of Mr. Pangilinan, chances are they will match what was offered by the PBA,” said Alvarez.

If this happens, he said, Aguilar could receive a “double” salary.

“That means in the first year, he will be able to get P300,000 in the first year, P150,000 on the second year and then in the third year it’s close to P700,000. So multiply that [to Aguilar’s potential number of playing years], it will be just about P60 million,” said Alvarez.
