Default Group C, Gameday 1: Great Britain - Slovenia

It's game time. They beat us in preparation tournament in Spain. This time is Eurobasket. I think Slovenia will make a statement and win the game with big mergin. It is expected that around 2500-3000 Slovenian fans will come to Poland for group stage.

    What do you think?

    Game is tomorrow 18:15 CET.

Is Smodis in pain? If yes, you will all be in pain. Otherwise all will be good.

Smodiš is not in pain, but he won't play, yet. Coach Zdovc said Matjaž will play in next stage.

The Brits have an advantage in they got back Archibald and Pops who missed just about all the friendlies, it makes them a better team. Unfortunately you have to question how good their chemistry's going to be after missing that much time, and there's no way they're sneaking up on Slovenia who will be wanting to avenge that loss.

Even without Smodis Slovenia shouldn't have too much troubles here. I expect sweet revenge and double digits win for Slovenia, smth about 13-18pts difference

Sadly, I don't think Great Britain has much chance here.

Slovenia will not do the same mistake again. The preparation game must have taught them something.

    27-15 Slovenia after one.

Pops trying his best to keep the Brits in there, but he needs help.

The Brits have the lead! Slovenia has no answer for them in the paint, and they are in serious foul trouble

    Edit 37-35 Slovenia at halftime

Slovenians are lucky britts can't hit anything from outside..
I think all of their 6 three point attempt were uncontested..

I don't know why Slokar doesn't play. Our centers are in foul trouble and i don't like that Brezec plays so much. Slokar would be pobably better in defence than Brezec. And i certainly miss Beno Udrih, Lakovic and Dragic just don't know what to do with the ball.

i am never believing again in the polls here. i thought UK had no chance?

Is this a fluke? Or UK is indeed competitive at this level? Or is it just because the Slovenians are playing rather bad?

Every country has a chance. This is one of the weakest and most unpredictible Eurobaskets ever. I kinda like it this way. And the Slovenes will get better. If not in second half, then in next game for sure.
