Default Group F: Gameday 5: Turkey - Serbia

Another real test for both teams. Serbia is young and talented also very experienced imo.. Turkey on the other hand has a very good momentum. Quality all around players with NBA experience and monster big men.

Both teams punished Spain. Turkey is defeatless so far. Serbia just failed against Slovenia which is also a clear favorite for the title imo.

I guess Turkey's defense will be just like their defense on Spain but I think their offense will be more creative against Serbia. However, Serbia distribute the ball and find the open man better than Spain. Also their defense is one of the best of the tournament. Great match to watch.

For a guess.. I think Turkey have advantageous for all matchups however the energy and fundemental of Serbian team can cause serious problems to Turkey.

    55%-45% for Turkey.

My prediction is a 70-30% for Turkey but concerning Slovenia match it will be a 30-70 for Slovenia

Serbia won just by 4 points agains Poland when Turkey could win against them with more than 25 points because Hedo, Ilyasova didn't play much against the Polish team.
So, for me Turkey must win this game to ensure its first or second place.

According to daily sport-newspaper "Fanatik", Hedo may miss this one because of his knee injury, which didn't let him to give his best yersterday. Turkey won against Spain despite lacking Hidayet's usual contribution especially at the offensive side of the game but even his existence on the court is extremely important for this team. Winning against Serbia without Turkoglu would really be a hard mission...

I think its a perfect opportunity to put this team over the top... if we win without our leader we will be tough to beat. If we loose we have a rested Hedo for the next crucial game but won't loose much in momentum.

50-50 guys. In games like this anything can happen!

It would be such a blunder to rule out Serbia, while Turks are just amazing.

    wrong choice

i think this game will be tougher than Spain. We have nothing to lose but they have and we have been doing a great job recently. So we'll be more relaxed. Then its Serbia's turn to think game's result not ours

Tepic hurt his back against Poland. Markovic has knee problems and Paunic dislocated a finger. All injuries in the Poland match. Paunic and Tepic will play. We are waiting for information about the Markovic injury.

This could go both ways. The key is stopping offensive rebounding. Bjelica started the last two games to control the boards. He did very good but it will be harder again Ilyasova and the others. Turkey has an advantage in the front court. Yet again we will have to pressure the back court players if we want to win. We have to get into a fast paced game if we want to win. Hedo not playing would help a lot.

If Ivkovic manages to influence the players so they cut down with the "oscillations" in their performance, then we really can win this one. Guys just have to play constantly like they played vs. Spain and like they played in first 4-5 minutes of third quarter against Poland. Anyways, it's easier to say it then to do it. Tough one. My prediction is 55%-45% for Serbia, maybe because I think that Turkey will be more relaxed, being that they've already booked the spot in 1/4 finales. Also, I would like to see Hedo playing, after all he is definitely my favorite non-Serbian player, since the "Sacramento Kings" era. Pedja and Vlade nicknamed him Brat Hedo, which means Brother Hedo in Serbian. He is truly a great guy and a great player.

Yes, we will be more relaxed. This is the only disadvantage for us. But if you see that we're playing without any relaxation and unwillingness at the beginning of the match, the result will be better for Turkey at the end of the match.

don't know about you guys, but if a tukish coach coached serbia(or any other team) and beat our national team, people would go crazy over here. really, a riot wouldn't surprise me.

hope it's not the same situation over there.
