That's not right. If Greece scored all those freethrows, Lithuanians would play more seriously, more concentrated, so they would have not made all those silly mistakes and Lithuania could easily win the game by 10+ points. Anyway lets stop all that "if.. then.." crap.

i don't know about turkey because i've only seen the team once(turkey-lithuania) but i'm certain that this greece is better than this lithuania!i am talking about the two teams that are now playing in the WC.if saras and maybe siskauskas were here then maybe things would have been different but this team of lithuania is for sure not as good as greece is!

IF i had to compare the two teams in their current rosters I'd give advantage to Greece in terms of point guard (Papaloukas, though showed nothing special yesterday, over Gustas) and coach (Giannakis over Sireika) - and these are very important positions!

I'd give advantage to LTU in the frontcourt positions (in terms of QUANTITY of good big men what the number of rebounds quite objectively shows)

To conclude, in this championship Greece has better potential for rebuilding its team linkages. No emotions, only facts

Greece hasnt show the really face.The face that in the friendly games shown.I am expecting them to get better.Papadopoulos dont play so good and Papaloukas as always starts the tournament not so good.But inthe last stages is good.We have three prbms as NT in the begginning.

What if Lith didn't do any turnover and shot threes better? Lith would won by 30 or 40, aswell as they did in Athens (You remember that game, eh? ). I just want to point out, that "what would be if it would be" is ----, Greece won after overtime, and were down by 10 in 3rd, so that's just a simple conclusion that both teams are in very similiar level.

maybe because lost 20 FT (penalties in football if you know).I am not referring to Rebounds,,just only on FT.You managed to lost a game while you were far better on rebounds (16 RB diferrence) and while your opponent lost 20FT!!!!.This must be world achievement.Congratulations.Your next goal is to win a game.Sorry but your friend is talking too much..

Lithuanians players wont be winning by 40 or 50 because Greece game depends on defence and it was very easy to understand that Greece will play full press on 3/4 of the court and without a PG you are going to lose many balls.So it is very understanding why Lithuania lost so many balls.Even if the game will repeat again the most probably is to lose much more balls than less.Greece start to press in the second half.Imagine if they would on the first.And i beleive they underestimated you.When they realize that they will be a dangerous of loosing the game they came back in 2 minutes...So simple.and finally learn to lose and respect the win of the other as we did in the past.
And because i remember our lost then congratulations for the winning then.You will see another victory after 10 years.

The point is that there is no need to make statements like "if Greece haven't missed all those freethrows, then..." or similarly "if Lithuania haven't made so many mistakes..". It is stupid and pointless, because noone knows what could happen then. If it makes you feel better I agree that Greece is stronger than Lithuania, but as we have all seen, it is stronger only by few points.

Sounds fair.i dont have any kind of prbm with your NT which i beleive its good enough but it is bad to say remember when we beat you by 30.reminds me of OLY friends that they are saying untill now that they won by 34 and they have the record against PAO when PAO won three of the last times by 30.Its ridiculus.

Also remember that it was just day 2, Greece won a game, Lithuania lost a game, nothing more. There are still 3 more games for both teams in the group phase, not to talk about the knockout games - and in yesterdays shape both teams better don't think about the medals. We saw both teams problems yesterday, and I think that Greece has more potential than Lithuania to improve these things - what of course doesn't mean that they will.
Lithuania definately lacks a good PG and they need somebody who can carry the team in the final minutes. Greece on the other hand has the same problems they had in the beginning of the EC, shooting FTs and Threes. In addition to that the rebounding is worrying, they certainly need to work on these things.
It's still way too early though to say that a team won't lose a game or doesn't have a chance to go anywhere - there's still time to solve the problems, while day shape and the mental condition of the teams will play a big role as well.

Man, cool off. I'm was not trying to make any offense, I was just pointing out that Greece and Lithuania are in very similiar level.

Lithuanians wouldn't win by 50 of course, or 40, but that's teh same as Greeks wouldn't win by 20, as you told (well, yes they missed 20 FTs, but that's part of the game aswell as turnovers (from Lith side)). I just wanetd to tell you that it's dumb to tell "that what if would be..", and I also asked you to prove it that Greece is 10+ pts better team, you didn't prove it.

Greece won, yes, but did in in a hard fight, and that means teams are in same level.

turnovers of lithuania is a result of great defence of greece.anyway why yannakis took sofoklis than mayrokefalidis a much better player a greater scorer and rebounder?why didnt take tsakalidis?

smt else I think is is very hard to beat usa.First of all they have a college coach(he knows pretty well european basketball with its systems and etc)secondly is the first tournament that usa took not only great stars but also players who can do the "dirty"job in the court.And of course the main reason that noone can beat usa is dopping

I actually wanted to ask about that. Will team USA be tested for doping? I know every other team has to give random samples. If I'm not mistaken, during the Olympics, the USA had immunity from their players taking dopping tests.
