Question about users' profiles

When you open someones public prifile, under statistics tab there is General Information section, that says something like this:

Last Activity: Today 08:05 PM
Current Activity: Viewing Thread European clubs budget
Join Date: 11-22-2006
Referrals: 1

I'm curious what "Referrals" means.

But how does it work? I mean, if I just copy/paste the address ( http://forums.interbasket.net/ ) in some other forum, there's nothing in it that says that I was the one, who put the link there.

The problem is that I sometimes open my profile and there in the field of current activity it says that I'm watching some threads that I didn't know they even exist.Let alone watching them... Why is this happening?

That's an interesting question. I don't know if the system itself allows that option (I suppose not). I do think it's useful that doesn't happen, because an account can be hacked (that already happened in the past) and deleted without user permission. If a user wants their profile deleted, they can ask an admin (some verification with the user is needed because of what I mentioned previously) and that will be done.

That happens with just some posts and under certain conditions as to avoid spamming and spambots. It's automatic.
