It sounds that what's user calling himself "elaj" is implying is that Israel is actually a nation of crooks. And I must say I don't care for that. I would really like this user to explain his meaning.

kukulas, I'm quite sure you wouldn't like somebody to say the same about Greeks. And think you would lose your sense of humor either.

Poor Jews, can't stand a joke.

Yea, well maybe you should check your sources, because I know first hand that Walsh was paid everything on time... the only player this year in Olimpija.

Jewish connection is well known in Aris, that's why they will sign Drucker as their head coach as far as things go so far...

Feel like Jewish network is closing on you? Well, leave your antisemitism and your paranoia at home, and talk basketball. Thanks. No, we don't care for your stupid jokes.

No one should stand stupid jokes, playing with hostile stereotypes.
Besides, Drucker's and Blatt's nationality is Israeli. Learn the difference between Jews and Israelis once and for all.

Drucker has proven that he is a capable coach by winning two international titles already. It isn't like someone has forced him upon Aris.

I guess, it was Walsh's decision where to play. Either on a team that plays in the EL, competes in the Adriatic league and pays him his salary on time or play for a mediocre ULEB Cup team in a much lesser role. Sure, he was enslaved and shipped to Greece against his will. In the meantime, you can hole up in the deepest corner, biting our nails and hoping that Olimpija gets at least a little bit of money in order not to go down next year with zero wins in the EL, while holding a starting spot there in a totally undeserving fashion.

Yes, Olimpija owed him half of one salary! He got everything paid so he needed to pay Olimpija at the end to get letter of clearance. Anyway, he is past. He left for other reasons - not money, believe me. I know Walsh personally, if this is good enough reason?

Yeah, it's not like you didn't propose Israelis to grant Raduljica Israeli citizenship because he allegedly received money for joining a team, did not do so and never returned money. Nice try to turn things upside down.

    You failed once again!

Man, relax, I wasn't talking about Raduljica. I was talking about greedy FMP owner - Nebojša Čović. Again, it was a joke. I don't know why do I even explain myself... everyone else understood it was a joke except for some... they probably already sent Mosad after me...

    Leave frodo & goga alone

The original joke was on the edge of a bad taste , but the last few messages here are below any level

Can we return to talking basketball?

    Thanks

And that does change the subject big time. The tenor remains: Israel should get a greedy man its citizenship since they have greediness in common.

I never had my head where you didn't pull it out yet. If you don#t understand the difference between your allegation and the thing that disturbed me, I can't help you. It's not about everybody against Israel. It's about an age-old European antisemitic joke. If some idiot from the periphery and an underdeveloped country of this continent does not understand it and makes such jokes, he doesn't even need a characterization. He does the job himself.

It isn't bad taste. Because of such bad taste hundreds of thousands of Jews were brutally killed by the mob in Europe. In 2010, I consider it to be criminally wrong.

Basketball was the only topic here before elaj started to pollute the air and picek joined him as always. He is like a Pavlov's dog, when he hears the word "Jew". His associations with Jews are clear.

Basketball-wise, no significant news not posted here yet, unless we consider the EL-Quali team Alba Berlin, which lost the German SF Phillip Zwiener and the Eurocup-Quali team Skyliners Frankfurt that have extended contracts with Quantez Robertson and Marius Nolte.
Tez is an interesting player. Fresh out of college, he is a fantastic defender, somewhat undersized at the SF but very quick, very athletic and with great defensive instincts. If he manages to improve his ball handling and makes his shot more consistent, he can surely play in one of the best European leagues. He is young and has a couple of years of time. Should the Skyliners get a sponsoring extension from Deutsche Bank and make it to the Eurocup, Tez is worth watching. High energy, always 100%.
Nolte is there for chemistry reasons and in order for the team to fulfill the German quota.
Zwiener has just played at the last Olympic Games for Germany but never got the trust of Luka Pavicevic and is doing the only right step in going to a weaker team in order to get playing time. At the same time, it means that either Alba will put a 12th player on the roster with the German citizenship or it is really after a German SF/PF of starting material. Jagla?

Sure? That's the stereotype of Jews, like it or not. It's a fucking stereotype joke. Nothing else. Get your head out of your ass and breath a little. Same thing if I'd make fun of blondes, or no, you are a blond too?! Jewish and a blond, damn, that must be though on you when jokes start flying.

Oh, is that all you got? Yea, I'm probably living in Albania considering this description.

You said it yourself. Other people here found it funny, Israelis didn't. It's a stereotype joke. Not everything written against Jews is ment in a wrong way. It is a joke. I guess simply you lack proper sense for humor.

Andrija Žižić is a player who does not care of his body - one of main reasons why he is affordable to Asvel... He always comes to pre-season camps overweight, no conditioning and needs like 1-2 months before he is fully ready to play on decent level. He's a great addition for Asvel but again, lazy as fuck. I was watching Cedevita's prepration for a day in Rogla (Slovenia) this summer. Andrija came with like 25kg too much, couldn't run 100m sprint... coach Subotić of Cedevita (who was head coach then) was crossing himself everytime he saw him run... but at the end they somehow put him in shape and was great for them. French will need to be patient with him for first few months but I believe he will be great afterwards.

Of this continent? The one that Israel belongs to or the one the underdeveloped country belongs to? Asia or Europe? I'm confused.

Now go justify some murders on international waters or something...

    All Germans are Nazis
    All Italians are mafiosos
    All Jews are greedy

It's called stereotypes. Are they good? probably not. But if someone makes a joke of the kind Elaj made about any such stereotype, many people may not like it. It's a matter of taste. I for one would not care much if someone made such a joke about Germans. The only ones who seem to jump at such jokes are jews though (only some). But under no circumstances does such a joke, make Elaj or anyone else necessarily antisemitic. Reacting to it like that though has more chances of making someone antisemitic. So just calm down, get over your persecution syndrome and relax. Not everybody is after you (Palestinians maybe). The vast majority of the people have other more important stuff to worry about than hate jews for no reason.

Maybe because Jews has lost 10 millions lives in something that started with a few "innocent" jokes here and there.

PS: I don't back up goga78 on the part of "periphery and an underdeveloped country". I'm pretty sure there are many wonderful and generally good people in this country, just like in Germany, Italy, etc.

it did not start with jokes, it is far deeper than that and it also took a madman. or else other nations would have similar casualties at some point.

With this stance you only perpetuate the situation anyway. as i said, get over it, no one hates you or is after you.

i suggest a mod should move all related posts to a related thread.

    I prefer:

    Germans are efficiant.
    Italians are good cooks.
    Jews are smart.
Of course there is no such thing as a positive stereotype.

Either way the Jews need to mellow out and the goyim need to understand why Jews have the reaction that they do. While many groups have been oppressed, Germans and Italians have never gone throught what (especially in this case, Ashkenazim) have gone through (and by Italians and Germans no less). Jews, like say blacks, will tend to react quicker then say whites due to the history of oppression, however a sense of humor is also nice especially when no ill will is attached.

Either way, there is nothing to add to this. Some people were offended, others offended by the people being offended - either way, this is a basketball site - talk basketball.

Besides, if ya'll really want to continue create a special thered ("Stereotypes"?) and spiel there.

    Shalom/Salaam/Paz/Peace/WFT ever.

I agree with you. And of course nobody is forgetting history here and i never meant to compare situations. Jews (like everybody) have every right to react when a joke is ill adviced.

@frodoborg: The joke was on jews being greedy. Imo it's more or less the same as making a joke about jews having big noses (another jew stereotype). Would you say that antisemitism started and led to the anihilation of 10mil due to jokes about big jew noses?
