    Question CSKA Moscow 2010-2011

With arrival of Dusko Vujosevic and Maric, Vesely & McCalebb to join him (as rumored) , CSKA is turning into a beast:

    1) McCalebb, Holden
    2) Langdon
    3) Siska, Vasely
    4) Chryapa, Smodis(?), Vorontsevich
    5) Maric, Kaun

The problems for Vujosevic , as I see it,

    a) working with big-ego superstars, especially interesting how Dule will handle Holden
    b) language : Dule don't speak nor English, nor Russian ( as I know )
    c) the roster easily splits into 2 camps : veterans & ex-Partizan newcomers with all potential problems it may create

Please share your thoughts on the subject.

If Maric+Vesely+McCalebb are indeed in , and it's a big if , so the only additional player he will need is a backup SG to Langdon

Dusko Vujosevic, CSKA Moscow head coach:

I'm exceptionally satisfied and honored to continue my coaching career at such a reputed club as CSKA. My move to Moscow definitely marks a step forward in my career, but I do believe that what I'm bringing with me to CSKA will also contribute to my new club's better and bigger achievements. Russia holds tremendous potential in all aspects, including plentiful basketball talent, and I truly hope that my experience in working with youth, coupled with hard day-to-day work and dedicated commitment on the court, will help these talented Russian youngsters develop into real players.

Naturally, alongside those efforts we will also have to fight our competitors every day as we strive to achieve top results. I have won many trophies in my career, but I still lack the Euroleague trophy. I have been dreaming about winning it and I hope that my dream will come true during my contract with CSKA. I sincerely hope that CSKA and Russia will show me the same kind of love that I feel coming into my new club and your country.
Somehow youth & CSKA didn't worked so far. The club's is under pressure to make it final4 each season, let's see how patient will be the club's management

After Marjanovic, how many more players needed? Another shooting guard (Russian) to complete the roster?

And what about Kurbanov and Sokolov, will they stay? And will Shved get a chance next year?

    1) CSKA still need a PG & a backup SF for Siska

    2) they did sign Bykov as Russian SG

    3) Sokolov will go, no doubts , with Marjanovic to take his spot. Kurbanov's future is pretty vogue, his problem that he stuck between PF/SF : not quick enough for SF and not tall & strong enough for PF. I guess he will be loaned to some non-top-tier Russian club ( Dynamo ? )

    4) Hard to tell if it worth for Shved to return. Right now CSKA have only Holden as a PG ( who is more a crazy scorer then a PG ) , Bykov is SG/PG but makes too many TO to lead a top club , so CSKA is in huge need of a starter PG. If they bring him , Holden is likely to be a backup option & Bykov could take the spot as Russian back-up PG alternative . This pretty much kills Shved's potential playing time.

There is an option that Dule won't bring any new PG , but it seems rather unreal , considering the fact then less then F4 for CSKA will be considered as a failure

Another Final 4 stint for CSKA Moscow. I'm checking their current line-up now in their website.

I wouldn't be so sure. Last season they made it a bit unexpectadly considering the hiring of a new coach, a lower budget and supposedly the use of more Russian players. In the beginning of the season almost no-one put them in the F4. I guess now it's even harder, not because of roster and coach quality, but because it's a novelty Vujošević coaching a team other than Partizan and abroad. Quite a few question marks. I'm really looking forward to see them play under him.
