Nope, but his future with the club is pretty uncertain. I guess it all depends on his health condition @ the start of the season.

    Semis are:

    CSKA - Partizan

    PAO - Zalgiris

Most probably they'll meet in final, but it's still not guaranteed

I watched for 3 games of Russia (Turkey, China and NZ) in this WC and I really enjoyed watching Andrey Vorontsevich, especially today. He can score from in and outside, has decent dribble skills and is a big athlete, with ability to grab huge rebounds and block shots. Just can't understand his modest stats sheet during his career, so far.
Maybe, CSKA fans can help me!!

Yeah, i liked his play too, though he isn't very universal. When Messina coached CSKA, he was afraid to shoot the basket. And now he's recovering from this psychological "illness".

Good and inspiring news for CSKA fans. Charismatic leader of CSKA Moscow Matijaz Smodis lost a lot of weight. I hope no injuries for him in current season!

    Vow
    Still just 1/2
Oh well -for the moment it looked like the game similar to BAR-LAL till someone in CSKA decided to kill it.At no point after second quarter CSKA were after the win. What a shame

What exactly has happened with CSKA this season? I know Holden, Langdon, Siskauskas and Smodis (coming back from a bad injury) are all at the veteran stage but they can't have declined that much?

They've lost 8 PBL games and are 5th in the standings (although the table is tight), bombed out of Euroleague and lost the VTB final to Khimki. Have the other Russian teams improved while CSKA have taken a step back? Has Kazlauskas improved the performances much yet?

So was it just a year too many for this team or something else? Will they make dramatic changes next year?

IMO there was a situation when all the bad things came alltogether: mostly of course lot of injuries throughout the season, I don't remember if there was a time when team could play at full strenght, always couple of important players were injured, sometimes even more.
Then trip to US few days before EL, which IMO caused loss at home vs Milano, lot of expected quick bounce back, but the next game was in OAKA... then in Valencia and 0-3, so tough schedule and poor start put lot of pressure on team and Vujosevic, all this was huge let down psichologically. Team started to lack motivation, look lost.
Also we could questioning some management decisions like signing of Gordon, which IMO isn't the needed player to lead the team like CSKA.

Some teams improved, some stayed more or less the same, but CSKA under such circumstances definitely took step or even two back. IMO Kazlauskas improved CSKA's game, atleast it doesn't look that messy and chaotic, but teams still is far from it's potential, Kazlauskas needs some more time and healthy roster, which probably won't happen this season

As I heard, they will. Lot of players' contract expires, so I'd guess CSKA will be very active and try to shake the market this summer.

Do you know examples of non-english speaking coaches succesfully working outside their country?

Thanks for the reply Mindozas. Who do you think are favourites to win the PBL now? It seems pretty open.
