Default Most Hated Team: Miami Heat

All of us I know can't wait for the opening of the NBA. And I know, we all want to watch the Miami Heat new supertrio play together, but we don't want to watch to see them win (because yes they can win no doubt about it) but rather we want to watch and see how they lose! From being loved to being the most hated team in the NBA.

On Sports Illustrated, the Heat figured in at #25 on the Most Hated Teams. Fancy that I don't HATE the HEAT.

I HATE THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS.

Anyways, let's make this the official Miami Heat Thread.

Come join the Kings! Throw out the Lakers! Your Avatar says it all.

Anyways, I think its unfair for the HEAT to be the most hated Team of the NBA. (Los Angeles Lakers deserve that) but the baggage of haters by LeBron James and perhaps Chris Bosh should not be channeled towards Dwyane Wade or other innocent Miami Heat players.

Since the HEAT have 16 players, I think Kenny Hasbrouck or Juwan Howard will be cut later on.

I'm surprised that this team filled out so well. I really thought they would have nobody behind the big three. Mike Miller is a stud. He's a solid athlete who is more than just a role player. Arroyo is the perfect PG for this team. Eddie House is a great player off the bench. Ilgauskas is still a great center. Ilgauskas, Magloire, and Howard are three solid veterans who can play offense and defense.
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

They hate the Heat because it transformed into an all-star team. Lol. And the Laker fans are afraid to lose their title.

Anyways, looking ahead on personnel and the always guaranteed buyouts before the player transaction deadlines on 2011, the HEAT could benefit from adding players believed to be as "Most Likely bought out" which are Grant Hill, Willie Green, Leon Powe and even likes of Mike Dunleavy.

Those guys mentioned are quality players that the HEAT could sign for a minimum amount IF waived or preceded a buy-out.

Miami Heat Fil-Am coach coming to RP

The Filipino-American head coach of the Miami Heat, Erik Spoelstra, will be in Manila along with assistant coach David Fizdale to participate in a series of activities for the NBA FIT program.

“NBA FIT is a terrific program and I am excited to return to the Philippines to promote the importance of healthy living to Filipino children and their families,” said Spoelstra. “Basketball is such a huge part of my life and giving back to our community is meaningful to me. Being able to combine basketball and my heritage gives me great pride.”

The Miami Heat has generated a lot of excitement among basketball fans after the acquisition of the NBA’s top player, LeBron James, formerly of the Cleveland Cavaliers. James joins Dwayne Wade, who already led the Heat to a championship, and former Toronto Raptors star Chris Bosh.

NBA FIT will be held in Manila for nine straight days, from August 6 to 15, for the largest program ever held in Southeast Asia.

NBA FIT is the league’s comprehensive health and wellness program that encourages physical activity and healthy living for children and families through events, programs, and products. NBA senior vice president and managing director of NBA Asia Scott Levy explained why the league decided to bring the program to the country:

“Filipino NBA fans are extremely passionate about the league and this program will provide them with an authentic NBA experience in their own backyard,” Levy said. “We thank our partners for their enormous support and look forward to joining them in promoting the importance of health and fitness to Filipino youth.”

From August 6 to 15, basketball fans can expect the following:

NBA FIT Clinics – Fans can participate in free fitness and basketball activities such as cardio and kickboxing classes, Bollywood dance classes, urban fitness training, and two time-based basketball and fitness competitions: the NBA FIT Challenge and Dribble Dish & Swish. Fans can also learn valuable tips on nutrition, hydration and healthy choices from renowned experts or receive health and BMI checks and nutritional counseling on-site. NBA FIT Clinics will be held at the SM North EDSA Annex on August 7 and 8, at Far Eastern University (FEU) and De La Salle University (DLSU) on August 10, and at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on August 15. Registration is on-site and all events and activities are free of charge.

NBA FIT Development Camp – Coach Spoelstra will host a one-day NBA-style training camp for some of the country’s top men’s and women’s basketball players on August 11. The top 80 prospects, selected by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), will learn the latest NBA techniques and fitness training and will take part in advanced hydration “sweat tests” and tailored nutrition seminars. Local basketball coaches, athletic trainers and members of the media will be invited to observe the camp.

NBA FIT Fun Run – An NBA FIT Fun Run, co-organized by RunRio, will take place on Aug. 14 with 3K, 5K and 10K distances. It is open to participants of all ages and a total of 2,000 spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration will be held at RUNNR, Bonifacio High Street at The Fort, and at Fitness First, SM Mall of Asia branch.

Spoelstra and his staff will also bring the NBA FIT message to the youth through basketball and fitness clinics in San Pablo, Laguna and in Metro Manila.

For more information about NBA FIT Week, please log on to www.nba.com/philippines
Coach Erick Spoelstra will make the Miami Heat the most favorite NBA team on the Philippines. How can Filipinos HATE the Miami Heat after this visit?
