Default Group B, Day 3, USA vs. Brazil

Quite a few NBA (and NBA rookie) players on the team - what are your thoughts on the match? They have beaten the USA team a few times before on international tournaments...

There is nothing that we can do.

I just hope to see Brazil playing well and free of injuries.

USA is gonna lead by 20 by half-time and it will be the walk in the park, just like the other games so far. Brazil is on Croatia's level or weaker.

I thought Brazil would play a lot better than they are right now. Unfortunately, I don't think they stand a chance against USA. The important thing is that Brazil finish second in group and get good placement in knockout stage to succeed.

Why, is he your favourite player......

I seriously doubt that Brazil can win this game, I just hope however that they can teach the rest of us how to play against the US

We will win by 85x84 win with Machado's 3 point ball at buzzer...

    I'm kidding

but i think the team will play better against Slovenia and Croatia, this 2 victory by 15 points is not a parameter, cause we used a lot of bench on this 2 first games.

Think the US takes it pretty comfortably, though Brazil will probably keep it closer for awhile.

    ^^ Nice!

I think even Paul the octopus would fail in this tourny.

As for the game, again, I hope someone pushes the US to a more difficult position, however, I guess it won't happen in the group stages. Good luck to Brasil.

i had my doubts about this so called "b" team. but after seeing the destruction of 2 decent european teams like croatia and slovenija i have to admit no one is beating the US team. maybe someone will challenge them in the medal round but not beat them. this team is balling and its main opponents are barely getting by. spain is 1-1 and not clicking may not win its group and prolly play argentina in quarters. argentina is eeking wins right now, serbia 1-1, hellas will now play with its full squad. lets see what ellades does now. france and turkey look good. i say

USA should win again easily but I expect a less margin than that against Croatia and Slovenia, 15 points margin for example. Brazil is hopeless.

Well, most of US opponents have been jump-shooting teams. You can't beat them with that type of tactic. Inside play + slowing the game will only work.

Many teams try to slow down the game but they just cannot manage, especially when US presses them up top. We see this over and over again, the US force their opponents to play their fast game. At the end, the team who will bring us down will be a team that hits all their shots and has a good inside game, with a fair amount of decent D. Just not sure who it will be.

This will be the toughest test for USA in the group stage. Brazil has a great PG (Huertas), a fast and furious SG (Leandro Barbosa), an experient sharpshooter (Marcelo Machado), a top class PF (Splitter) and a fighter C (Varejão, will he play today??). Really good team, a medal contender, imo.

    Anyway, USA by 10.

True but I think some teams have chosen to settle for outside shooting in hopes of succeeding early. This is something that must be overturned.

Argentinean coach of Brasilian team, Ruben Magnano told at the press conference that the injured star of Brasil, Anderson Varejao wants to play in today's match against USA. They are considering to give him a few minutes but Mr. Magnano added that only the doctors can decide whether he can play or not. Brasil, won the first two matches against Iran and Tunisia, however, the real test comes today as they will play agains the undefeated and main favourite USA.
