Default Need some opinions on Siim-Sander Vene

    Hey guys!

According to sportando basket, EnBW Ludwigsburg is about to get Siim-Sander Vene, who's currently playing for Aisciai, on loan. Can you tell me a little bit about the player?

    Many thanks,
    uhg80.

    1) Right now he is playing for Kaunas TrioBet.

    2) He is the biggest Estonian prospect - still very young and showing goo results.

    3) Vene has great body and can become great 3rd number (in Kaunas Triobet he sometimes played as SG what made him very good because he can play well from beyond the arc, can play one-on-one and is quite versatile for his height). However, he is still young and I don't expect to see him making big numbers and I don't know, will he get chance to play? He should, if Žalgiris has made desicion to loan him.

    Thanks for your opinion, sagenas.

Vene is supposed to be the injury replacement for young SF Ziyed Chennoufi and should add more depth to a rather small roster. While he'll be the 3rd SF on the depth chart, my guess is that he will get his minutes, because one of the SFs is also the main backup for Zavackas as PF. It will also help that Vene can play shooting guard, since Ludwigsburg has only 3 players for the two guard positions. His versatility surely comes in handy.

What about his quickness and defense? In the german BBL Vene will face many fast american players, especially if he's used as SG.

He's young, not super quick but not slow as well, good body. Loves mid range jumpers. He is playing SF mostly, but used to have some minutes in Zalgiris as PF as well.
