in his last game our Matt Freije posted 11 points 12 rebounds 2 blocks.
not very good numbers from matt, but you have to take into consideration that he's coming back from an injury and that he's been out of shape for some time since the last WC.
let's hope that he'll improve through the next month in uruguay, on the other hand, i can see he improved his defensive capabilities

numbers reflect nothing, maybe you're right, but did you watch the game ?
i guess not, so i guess we'll have to rely on numbers for now

Well i agree but not a lot
I would prefer a consistency of play rather than good or bad numbers.

We all know who is Matt and that his problem is inconsistency in playing time
So let's hope he just continues to compete and be ready for asia.

Whether he score 2 points or 50, he remains a high caliber player that we do not have in lebanon (with 1 or 2 exceptions)

matt freije leads his team to a win over cordon 90 -87 by scoring 33 points
    : 11-19 from 2pts , 2 - 5 from 3pts , 5-6 from FT , 5 rebounds and added 2 block shots without making any T.O ..... that's realy good !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, i´m from Uruguay and i was in the stadium tonight for the last Play off game for Hebraica Macabi.
I´fan of this team and i really admire Matt.
We lose the game, but i have to say that it was a really close match. Matt is EXCELLENT, i saw him when started to play here and he is amazing.
The third match he was brillant, really played all around de court and he did it great. Hes is a great team player, played every minute doing everything!
Anothe comment that show his great work it´s that he was injured...and he still played. For the 4th match he was still injured but he asked to the coach for being part of the team, and he did his best.
Tonight he was still injured and it was not his best night but he tried every single second he was in court and he played a lot.
He fought to the end, even with his ankle broken...
I´m so proud of him and i would love to see him for a long time here. I know, probably he leaves soon, and i wish him the best...CONGRTULATIONS FOR THAT GIANT PLAYER.

I APOLOGIZE FOR MY HORRIBLE ENGLISH..

Welcome to Interbasket Maria Laura and muchas gracias for your kind comments and remarks
We are very happy to know that Matt has fans in Uruguay and that you enjoyed watching him playing in your league..This means a lot to us

As for his injury this is very unfortunate as he has been suffering from a number of injuries these past few years and this is affecting his performance with the teams he is playing with

i'm so sad to hear that matt is suffering from injuries
as far as i know, injuries have always plagued his career, but this time it seems to be serious,he cant seem to be able to heal and overcome these injuries,i hope this will not push him to retire as he's still fairly young and still has a few years to give

Hi again; yes, i´ve hear that injuries was a karma in his career, and i´m so sad for it. But i tell you guys, he fought like a lion to the end of all matches.
As i told you, an american player from de other team injured his ankle during the game, and he was almost dismissed for the 4th game. But HE ASKED TO PLAY, and the coach was agree. He has no time to heal because the 3rd game was tuesday 8th of february and the 4th game was on friday 11th. The fifth game was yesterday, and he still wanted to play. That really meritourious because the usual for foreing players is to keep away from matches if they are injured, to take care his health...but he made his best and i admire for that. Something similar happened with Toñito García (the other foreing) he played injured but did a great work.
I fell that Matt feels really comfortable in this team, i think, he really work as a part of the team doing everything for it wins. That´s why i admire him, he no pretends to be an star or anything else, he es one more player with the rest of his teammates. GReat for him. I really want he to stay more time here in Macabi, but probably he will get better options in his career. I wish him the best and i hope no more injuries, is too young to quit.

sorry again for my bad english. Unfortunatly i didn´t get a good pcitures yesterday to share.

Thanks again for you kind words and comments
Matt is known to give his best and he is a fighter... I watched him play in Turkey in the World Championships and even though he was injured and limping on the court he still gave everything that he could for the team to try to help them in the games.

We wish all the best to your team, Hebraica Macabi, in Uruguay and hopefully next year you can get much better results

(It must have been really sad that Macabi lost the last 2 games of their season by only 1 point against Defensor )

P.S: Your english is really good so no need to apologize

thanks, yes, it was really painfull but i have to admite that they may be played a little better. Anyway the most important fact was that my team did wake up, put heart and soul and got almost there, the last game was so exciting, in seconds everything changed, adn the referees had not their best night. Anywhay, i´m so proud of my team, but unfortunately there be a long time until next championship. Our comtetition method is really weird, so first division may be begins on may or june. Los of players are playing with teams from 2nd division now, because there is the championship in progress. Matt, for example i think is not able to be choosen for those teams because being foreing, so that is why i tell that is not so probably he stay much more time in Uruguay, so sad for us. It´s really nice to see how many admiration he receives from lebanon, he should be really proud of you guys.
