Carlton Myers says enough, retires March 30

On his 40th birthday Carlton Myers say in public to stop his career as a basketball player. On 30 March in the auditorium of San Patrignano the Italian champion will meet great coaches, like Tanjevic which confirmed his presence, and great players, former teammates and even some "enemy" as historical Danilovic.

The match of the May 2, 2010 Latin knit Crabs Rimini, therefore, will be his last outing. Myers in his career he has played in Rimini, Pesaro, bank Fortitudo Bologna, Rome, Siena, and even a brief experience of the Spanish won a championship with Fortitudo Bologna in 2000, an Italian Cup, again in Bologna in 1998 and then two Super Italian (1998 in Fortitudo, 2004 in Siena).

With the national team, then came a European gold in 1999 and a silver in 1997, along with a gold medal at the Mediterranean Games of 1993. In the match between Teamsystem Udine and Rimini in 1995, finished 147-99, Myers will put even 87, with 94 evaluation! Both, needless to say, are for the Italian Serie A record.

One of the defining moments of his career when he was flagbearer for Italy on the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Used to watch him play for Unione Sportiva Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro.

Definitely my favourite basketball player and not only because he's italian... maybe the word "legendary" isn't the most appropriate but Carlton was huge in his playing years... a great shooting guard able to attack very well but also to shut down his opponent... one of the top 5 italian players ever.
