Iraq NT U16 is one of the Best and better even than Lebanon and Iran ,Because they are Cheating and playing players that are for sure more than 20 !!!!!! and we will see if these players when they were in Iraq in WABA will be in Asia

Malaysia U16 team is currently in a friendly tournament in Dakha, Bangladesh, also featuring teams from Bangladesh, India, Maldives, and Bhutan. Not sure if anyone can find additional info. (Maldives is sending the senior NT)

The SEABA qualifier for U16 will be held in Banting, Malaysia on Aug 9-13. As Thailand is still banned by FIBA (can't they do something more constructive?), 5 teams (Laos, Pilipinas, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore) will vie for 2 spots.

Can't agree more.

Nothing is going to be decided in youth and junior levels like it is at the senior stage.So i think there are a handful of teams who have a shot at the championship,though my first choice will be China.

Well yeah Iraqi's looked like beasts compared to youths playing in that tournament.
If that's the way they tend to participate in the coming competition then i must say they have a big edge!

India will play nepal and sri lanka in delhi from aug 1-3 (u16 asia cup qualifiers).
15 yr old 7'1" satnam singh is also in the team. he played for senior NT last week for asia cup qualifiers .

The Indian Youth (U16) Boys basketball squad will face youth teams from Nepal and Sri Lanka at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall of the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi from August 1-3, 2011. These games will decide on the team which will qualify for the 2nd FIBA Asia Championship for Youth Boys at Nha Trang City in Vietnam, from October 18-28th.

Malaysia U16 lost to Maldives NT 81-82 to finish 4th in the tournament. (Bangladesh beat West Bengal in the final, while Bhutan Thimphu Club finished last.) Anyway this is respectable result, and they are coached by an Australian Greg Gurr but it won't be easy to qualify. His interview and Malaysian roster:

Forming an U-16 team will be the next major priority. He said that training for an U-16 team could commence by as early as next week. A Korean coach, with experience in coaching South Korea’s U-16 national team, will also assist in this endeavour. Tenzin Jamtsho said that, in one to two years, this team could represent Bhutan as its national team.

The U-16 team’s international debut is already scheduled for October, for a three on three tournament in Sri Lanka.

I take it they won't be in the Asian U16 Championship considering the ongoing qualifier from South Asia. (Not sure if Central Asia is separate again.)
