Default Olympiacos Completes The Undefeated Season

    http://www.esake.gr/article/14842

    Olympiacos Record 04/21/2011

Olympiacos became the first team in HEBA A1 history to finish the regular season undefeated. The Reds broke the previous record (25-1), which was held by Panathinaikos.

If we look at the whole Greek Championship league history, the last time a team went undefeated in the championship was in the 1987-88 season, as Aris succeeded to go 18-0 (undefeated for the 3rd consecutive year in a row).

In a season of 26 games, only this year's Olympiacos, and Aris of the 1985-86 season, have been able to achieve the ultimate undefeated record.

It should be noted, that Olympiacos also went undefeated (since there were no playoffs then) in the A National Championship during the 1975-76 season. The same thing was achieved by Aris (1985-86 season) and AEK (1967-68 season) in the A National Championship.

In the A1 National Championship, Aris twice pulled off the undefeated regular season (1986-87 and 1987-88), with a record of 18-0.

I'm sure u do. It has much more importance. The undefeated regular season means nothing if it's not followed by 3 wins in the finals.

i am sure that if oly goes title-less this season they will boast that they went 26-0 in the regular season (which is the same as 2-0, but anyway)...

Such a sad finale for this Undefeated Season.
Oly -clearly the best team in Greece - was robbed once again by the ref's mafia.

hahaha. that means nothing. even 50 years later everyone may talk about pana's championship, not oly's easy record.
