    lol
He was good back then. Sparks of brilliance but that is all it. Just spark. On the latter part of his college career he was playing like a veteran. A 40 yr old veteran. But i didnt lost hope of him performing well(same with luanzon and vizcarra). But that didnt happen.
I didnt even think he will be picked years ago. Pano pa ngayon.

One amazing thing he did years ago? He predicted Dylan Ababou becoming UAAP MVP. hehe
Pero GOOD LUCK to him! Go uste!

Anyway, where's Edwin Asoro? has he tried entering the PBA?

Can we possibly see Chris Tiu applying in this year's rookie draft!
Not only does God play dice, but sometimes he throws the dice where we can’t see them.

hmm..since we haven't seen him in the dleague then i'm sure he is more than 26..probably 28 already since he did play during the non final 4 years of ust alongside vizcarra, luanzon, de guzman and hubalde wherein he isn't even the best player of the bunch. i wasn't being harsh to my fellow tiger btw, was just echoing the "no chance in hell" statement made famous during the powerade-bmeg quarterfinal series. though i really think he has no chance of getting drafted.

"I think if it's not this year, it's never," says Chris Tiu about his plans to enter the PBA Draft. The former Smart Gilas team captain adds he will definitely make a decision Wednesday next week, although at the moment, he is 60 percent leaning towards turning pro.

He should've entered the draft last year. If being part of the national team is his reason for having doubts to join the draft then I think he should think about this carefully. He should have a huge advantage among the other candidates to be part of the national team because of his international experience and availability, but these two things doesn't guarantee him of being selected. If he was already playing in the PBA the nt coaches would have had a better look at him and see how he fairs against the other guards in the PBA. Up to now there are still a lot of questions on how good he really is.

Ok, let's say Chris Tiu will go pro. What number do you think he'll be picked?

I think a guys like him is what Air 21 needs. And I find it interesting if he'll be picked by a Yeng Guiao team.

Now or never as Tiu ponders move to PBA
    By Aldrin Quinto

THE PBA draft beckons and for Chris Tiu, it’s now or never.

“I think if I don’t join this year, that’s it, no more basketball,” said Tiu on Wednesday night, adding that he will make the decision on Wednesday next week whether to join the draft or become a businessman full time. The deadline for application for the draft is on August 3, two days after Tiu’s D-day.

Now 27, the amateur basketball star believes it is his last best chance to turn pro.

“Because I believe at this age now, it’s the time that I’m gonna make the important decisions and the mistakes that will allow me to learn for the future,” said Tiu.

"I just pray, and pray, and pray. Pray for me that I make the right judgment."

Tiu noted he is “60 percent” leaning towards choosing basketball, but is concerned he will fall behind his peers in the business sector.

“I don’t want to be left behind in that field of business. The learning and experience compared to my batchmates at Ateneo, who've been working for several years already… several years doing business,” Tiu noted.

“I wanna start early… I’m doing it now, but of course it’s different when you’re part timing and when you’re really immersed in it,” said Tiu, who earned degrees in Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics at Ateneo de Manila and has been involved in several businesses in the food and beverage sector.

At the same time, Tiu feels the chance to turn pro has presented itself again several years after shunning the PBA draft to concentrate on the amateurs. Major changes in the national basketball program have recently kept the former national team captain out of basketball and now the PBA beckons.

“I’m able to rest for half a year, focus more on businesses, my advocacies, some endorsements, TV work as well,” Tiu said.

“Now here it comes again, cycle, umikot na naman, PBA draft.”

“I think it’s now or never.”

Tiu knows this year’s draft pool is brimming with talent, much younger ones at that, but he isn’t concerned with getting picked late.

“The number’s not important, ang importante mapunta ka sa team na gagamitin ka, a team that needs you,” said Tiu.

“As a player naman you can adjust to the different systems of coaches. So as long as I’m given the opportunity to play, given the minutes on court… of course you have to earn that… I’m okay with it.”

If he doesn’t enlist into the draft, it’s not entirely zero basketball for Tiu. The cager who has seen action in various international tournaments tries to help develop basketball in the grassroots level and has recently started taping an instructional segment on TV5 called 1-on1 Tiu-torials, which will air on AKTV on IBC 13.

1-on-1 Tiu-torials brings basketball to the school children, corporate leagues and barangay tournaments and will cover basic to advanced basketball skills.

Somewhere in the top 5. Just last year, he was piling up the numbers for Smart Gilas when they played as a guest team.

it depends on the needs of the team .... if they are in need of a FACE of the Team, for Marketing Purposes or in order to bring in Fans especially the young girls and "3rd sex" then Chris Tiu is your man. He might not bring you the statistical numbers but he could bring you "money" numbers ...... remember PBA is not purely basketball as business is an integral part of it.

Yup!!!! .... never limit yourself within the box, look what he can give to the team outside of his skill level which other players could never give. Chris Tiu has the X-Factor which could benefit a number of teams. Enticing Fan-support is a very big criteria which could be considered. What more if your team is loaded in all positions but what you are lacking is fan support ..... thats something Chris can bring in. Then there could be some trade-ins or X-deals which you can get with Chris as part of your team. I cannot forget how surprised Norman Black was after their week-long Team Building at Tagaytay Highlands was all paid-up with just a wink from Chris hahaha! ..... it helped that his dad is a high-ranking official in Highlands and Chris has signing rights.
