The XVI Pan American Games will be held Oct 24-30, 2011 in Guadalajara, Mex.
Basketball events (Men's and Women's) are scheduled from 21 to 30 October and the participant teams (8 each tournament) are already defined.

Argentina Basketball has already announced a list of 18 men invited to a training camp starting on July 25.

This list doesn't show the usual big names of the senior NT and will probably be different from the Fiba Americas squad.
I'm wondering what teams will be assembled by other countries (f.i. USA) considering that no trials have been planned by the USAB calendar so far.
The draw for both women's and men's basketball will take place on June 27.

Group B

Puerto Rico is going for the Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USA might be represented by NCAA college players or USBL players.
I wish Puerto Rico go with their colleges players. Jio Fontan, Mike Rosario, Kevin Young, Carlos Lopez, Jorge Brian Diaz, etc, etc,
Hope everything else go with competitive squads.
I missed the old days, when the basketball tournament was as long as the Pan Am games. I mean, the basketball tournament run from they one to day ten.
It should be like that again.
http://gironoaro.blogspot.com/2011/0...ecnico-da.htmlAinda neste ano, teremos os Jogos Pan-Americanos. Já está definido o perfil da seleção que defenderá o Brasil no México? Você estará no comando desta seleção?
The Panamerican Games groups have been defined.
Women's:
Group A: Argentina, USA, Puerto Rico, Mexico
Group B: Canada, Brazil, Jamaica, Colombia
Men's:
Group A: Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina
Group B: Republica Dominicana, Brazil, Uruguay, USA

They are some players that are playing in Europe that are in this team Richard Chaney & Ramon Clemente.
With experience in Europe and not in contract at this moment as I know are: Carlos Rivera, Miguel Ali Berdiel, Jesse Pellot and Joel Jones.
Mike Rosario, excellent prospect in the NCAA with the Florida Gators.
Angel Alamo, been doing good with the Quebradillas Pirates this season.
Not a bad team, only doubts are Raymond Barbosa, haven't heard of him this season and Jose Guitian, which has not a good season in the BSN.
David Cortez is 6"4"
It's not a recent news, but Argentina too has defined a roster of 18 players that will tryout by the end of July.
The list doesn't comprise the big names of senior NT.
