    Default 2011 Pan American Games

The XVI Pan American Games will be held Oct 24-30, 2011 in Guadalajara, Mex.

Basketball events (Men's and Women's) are scheduled from 21 to 30 October and the participant teams (8 each tournament) are already defined.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basketb...American_Games

Argentina Basketball has already announced a list of 18 men invited to a training camp starting on July 25.
    http://www.latinbasket.com/Argentina...?NewsID=226443
This list doesn't show the usual big names of the senior NT and will probably be different from the Fiba Americas squad.

I'm wondering what teams will be assembled by other countries (f.i. USA) considering that no trials have been planned by the USAB calendar so far.

USA might be represented by NCAA college players or USBL players.

I wish Puerto Rico go with their colleges players. Jio Fontan, Mike Rosario, Kevin Young, Carlos Lopez, Jorge Brian Diaz, etc, etc,

Hope everything else go with competitive squads.

I missed the old days, when the basketball tournament was as long as the Pan Am games. I mean, the basketball tournament run from they one to day ten.

It should be like that again.

Ainda neste ano, teremos os Jogos Pan-Americanos. Já está definido o perfil da seleção que defenderá o Brasil no México? Você estará no comando desta seleção?

Here is the list of the 16 players of the puertorican team that are going to try to make the Pan Am squad.

    Miguel Ali Berdiel 6"6"
    Carlos Rivera 6"2"
    Jesus Verdejo 6"4"
    Raymond Barbosa 6"1"
    Joel Jones 6"6"
    Jesse Pellot 6"4"
    David Cortez 6"6"
    Angel Alamo 6"9"
    Richard Chaney 6"5"
    Jose Guitian 6"10"
    Ramon Clemente 6"6"
    Alphonse Dyer 6"11"
    Manuel Narvaez 6"10"
    Christian Soto 6"8"
    Gilberto Clavell 6"6"
    Mike Rosario 6"3"

They are some players that are playing in Europe that are in this team Richard Chaney & Ramon Clemente.

With experience in Europe and not in contract at this moment as I know are: Carlos Rivera, Miguel Ali Berdiel, Jesse Pellot and Joel Jones.

Mike Rosario, excellent prospect in the NCAA with the Florida Gators.

Angel Alamo, been doing good with the Quebradillas Pirates this season.

Not a bad team, only doubts are Raymond Barbosa, haven't heard of him this season and Jose Guitian, which has not a good season in the BSN.

It's not a recent news, but Argentina too has defined a roster of 18 players that will tryout by the end of July.
The list doesn't comprise the big names of senior NT.

I'm eager to see the composition of Team USA's roster. Back in 2007 we had future NBA players like Hibbert, Dorsey, Ellington, Maynor, Weaver and DJ White on the roster.
    Draft Wishlist:
    PG Michael Carter-Williams / 21 yrs. old / 6'5
    PF Livio Jean-Charles / 19 yrs. old / 6'9

No tryouts / campus dates have been disclosed by USAB so far.
I'm curious too on what kind of team will be named.

they will come with a group of all star college freshman and sophmore players like always, and will end up at best in 4th palce.
