Japanese JBL / BJ-League 2011-2012 Season

JR Sakuragi of the Aishin SeaHorses is surging as of late and is making a point that his MVP last season was no fluke. The 35 year old bigman is currently averaging 17.9 ppg and 11.7 rpg.

Sakuragi is second to Takuya Kawamura in scoring and Sakuragi is first in rebounding, as his team is second in the team standings with a record of 11-3.

On last weekends' game against Toyota, Aishin has proven that they are a very dangerous team to a powerhouse.

A David and Goliath affair as 2nd placed Aishin hopes to pick up an easy win against Toshiba that is at the bottom of the league with a 2-12 record.

The Takamatsu Five Arrows of the BJ-League's Western Conference is currently winless with a slate of 0-12. It now is a thing to ponder on when will Akita nail their first win of the season.

Their next game is on December 3-4 against the expansion team, the Iwate Big Bulls with a slate of 1-11.

In a clash of bottom dwellers, may the better cellar dweller win.

The Saitama Broncos have announced that Japanese-American assistant coach Natalie Nakase is promoted as the head coach of the franchise.

Nakase makes history by being the first woman to be a head coach in Japan's Professional Basketball Leagues.

Good games in all. I love how Levanga Hokkaido won against a good team like Hitachi. Also, I love how rookie Kosuke Kanamaru delivered on Panasonics' bounce-back win against Toyota. Kanamaru scored a career high 29 points alongside 7 rebounds. Future is bright for Kanamaru.

Oita's import teamed up with Kohei Mitomo as both scored 20 points to lead Oita to routing of the visitors. Oita ended their eight game losing streak.

Rizing Fukuoka 101 Hamamatsu Phoenix Higashimikawa 98 OT

Fukuoka's Kevin Palmer exploded with a 42 point and 14 rebounds performance. Jun Nakanishi added 22 points for Fukuoka, Akitomo Takeno scored 18 and Gary Hamilton had 14 rebounds and six assists.

Osaka Evessa 77 Chiba Jets 67

Osaka bouncing back from their home drubbing from Chiba on their previous game. Wayne Marshall stepped up with a 20 points and 11 rebounds performance. Cohey Aoki, recovering from a lackluster game, responded with 17 points and 5 assists.

December 3, 2011 BJ-League Results

Good win for the Shimane Susanoo Magic against the Sendai 89ers. Michael Parker took over and scored a game high 28 points. Reggie Golson added 16 points while Tatsuhiro Yokoo and Jeral Davis each scored 13 points.

Floor leader, Edward Yamamoto had 11 points and 13 assists.

The Kyoto Hannaryz are currently 11-5 with a cool eight game winning streak. I believe this is the best start in their three seasons in the BJ-League. Center Lance Allred is the center piece of the team. 18 points and 20 rebounds on his last outing against the Miyazaki Shining Suns.
