May be based on the fact that he doesn't know how to rotate his players properly, he doesn't know when to take time outs, he sometimes doesn't trust his players, with no basis whatsoever, and he loves playing players out of position. Damn i hate to see a player play out of position lol.

He is a good defensive coach but his offensive patterns suck. He would be a very good assistant coach in a top tier club, not a head coach yet.

He is not a bad coach though by any means. He does know how to motivate his players, he does know how to teach defense, and he is no pu**y, plus he is very hard working.

But all in all i am glad Olimpija got Filipovski instead of him.

    Both yes and no.

Zdovc btw. quit after losing to Partizan in adriatic league finals and didn't lose the championship this season.
Olimpija still is the no.1 club in Slovenia and so far probably the only one with serious euroleague ambitions & potential, but I believe people seriously underestimate the level of Krka this season. They were leading adriatic league for 80% of the season... and easily were above the level of majority of non-Top16 EL teams and most eurocup playoff teams.

I didn't like Zdovc for the way he handled some parts of coaching this season, but he definately wasn't bad overall, more like the opposite, he did great, no matter how different my perspective is on some things. I won't claim he'll become a great coach, that's dependand on way too many things... but he does have the potential to reach far in his coaching career.

Galatasaray have huge investment this year to be part of Euroleague.

We signed Turkish national guard Ender Arslan from Efes Pilsen and Cevher Ozer from Besiktas. We also signed Turkish super young talent Furkan Aldemir that come after Enes Kanter in Turkey, too.

Slovenian coach Jure Zdovc can be our new coach, but it is not offical yet. Oktay Mahmuti is the new GM of the team.

Henry Domercant, Nikola Pekovic is transfer target for Galatasaray. Pekovic accept to play for Gala, if the lockout happens, Pekovic can sign us and it can be signing of the year in Europe.

If Zdovc wants, some of Slovenian players will sign, including Bostjan Nachbar, played for Efes previous year.

Zdovc is a good coach. I think that this is a successful signing for Galatasaray... I like the work that he's done in the clubs he's coached. I don't think its likely that Pekovic would join a team like Galatasaray (no Euroleague record whatsoever) when he could join other teams who are legitimate contenders. For a player like Pekovic all legitimate contender teams will provide a lot of money.

I heard that Barcelona and Olympiakos also want Pekovic. But the Galatasaray have the best offer for Pekovic now. In any case, I think we will sign one player have similar reputation of Pekovic.

The players like Jaka Lakovic, Matjaz Smodis(I dont know his contract), Novica Velickovic, Mario Keselj, Milenko Tepic can be good choices for us.

For the staff, may be Oktay Mahmuti will continue as a coach. He had a interview with official site 5 minutes ago and he said "We didn't make a decision right now". All of Gala fans want Oktay Mahmuti to stay for coaching Gala in Euroleague.

    We will wait and see...

    Our squad may be built below;

    Ender Arslan (PG)
    Tutku Acik (PG)
Goksenin Koksal (PG-SG) (13th player, also he'll be kept for TBL)
(1st foreign) TRANSFER (1-2, combo guard)
    Evren Buker (PG-SG)
(2nd) Shipp or Domercant or another SG-SF
    Caner Topaloglu (SF)
    Preston Shumpert (SF-PF) (naturalized)
    (3rd) TRANSFER (3-4, Nachbar (?))
    Cevher Ozer (PF)
    Furkan Aldemir (%90) (PF-C)
    (4th) Luksa Andric (C)
    (5th) TRANSFER (C, Pekovic (? , %25))

I don't know what you guys are thinking but whenever I watched Caner Topaloglu, he was terrible. And a SF rotation with Caner, 40-year old Haluk (has he retired?) and injury-plagued Shumpert looks quite weak to me. You definitely need Domercant or any other player of that caliber.

Keeping Andric and adding Cevher were both great moves, imho.

Haluk wants to play one more year. I think he should be manager or coach and stay with us as player/manager.

Caner is not a talent but he played well as a role player and he was ready whenever Mahmuti wants. Anyway your thought is all right. He isnt a top player.

Also we (fans) are talking about Shipp and Domercant. Shipp may be loaned any TBL team, and next season he'll be naturalized. I think this rumour is realistic because Shumpert is 32 now.

Another problem is Evren Buker. Last season is worst for him. Will he improve next season? I dont know.

Galatasaray is fined to play two matches without audience by Disciplinary Board of Basketball Federation.

It's ok to be excited, I don't think it's arrogance . We've been seeing similar enthusiasm among Fener fans since last year and now Galatasaray fans started to join. Yeah, GS fans are not the best, but Fener was not a title contender, either. I myself was maybe a little annoying towards over-excited fans last year, but now i see that this is a good wave, even though we, as Turkish bball fans, need a reality check from time to time. We all have a long way to go.

It is good to see Galatasaray among the challenge, especially on a way to EL. They all wellcome in my point of view. However, excitement is a thing that you must balance it to get rid of negative sides and use it positively. I never mentioned that Fenerbahçe is a title contender so no need to compare Fenerbahçe with Galatasaray fans in this regard. Yes, this is a good wave and yes I'd like to see Galatasaray in EL but I expect their fans as like a little bit modest ones.
