    Default Basketball in Israel

I am playing for Team USA Select in september in a tour for a few teams in countries in Western Europe. I am 100% jewish and am thinking about moving to Israel in the fall. How do I go about finding tryouts for all divisions of Israeli teams and contacting teams? Where is there information on all of the 3 divisions. How do I find out about the 3rd league? Artizit league?

Can you read Hebrew? I don't believe that there is much info on Leumit\Artzit tryouts in a different language. If you can, there this:

Maybe try to contact Israeli Sport Ministry office for more information? They might provide some information or something.

You also have "Liga Alef" (4th division) which is divided to 4 different divisions, the teams are divided by area, and you also have "Liga Bet" (5th division) which is divided to 11 different divisions. I think that those league are only semi-pro and I'm almost sure that if you play there you better have a full-time job as well.

I'm not sure if you understand the system of Israeli basketball but it doesn't work like the NBA (or NFL etc.) the leagues aren't "closed" leagues and aren't separate from each other (although there's a different administration to the Lotto league (aka ligat ha'al) and the other leagues). Teams can get promoted to a higher league if they win the league or playoffs (for example from Artzit to Leumit (national) or from Bet to Alef) and teams that fail and finish last or lose a play-out can go the other way and get relegated.
