Default Gossips, Interviews and other Miscellaneous Info about Euroleague 06-07

In this great forum there r threads for euroleague signings and rumours, euroleague rules, euroleague predictions, euroleague cheerleaders etc. As i can see there r problems with some posts with opinions about players and other issues considered off topic.
I believe that there must be an OPEN thread for everything.
SO IN THIS THREAD U CAN POST EVERYTHING ABOUT EUROLEAGUE 06-07 (opinions about players, teams, news, interviews, tickets, injuries, questions, wishes and everything that has to do with euroleague 06-07).

    U R ALL WELCOME!!!!!!!

Kostas Vasiliadis (Malaga) was the MVP for Trofeo Pollinica. He was the best player in the final game of Malaga against Gran Canaria scoring 13 p.

He is an excellent scorer and i believe if he works hard enough he could be one very good signing for the spanish team.

Jordi Bertomeou the powerfull man of Euroleague gave an interview to the greek newspaper "Aggelioforos". I will try to translate the key points:

    1. "This year we have back in the euroleague Badalona, Roma and Aris. This is good news, because they are teams with great history and it is good to return in the highest level. Aris will have a great season. Thessaloniki is a city where bball is a priority and i hope they will enjoy the euroleague. During the euroleague draw we presented pictures of Aris fans in the ULEB cup final. It was an excellent show".
    2. "PAO was always competetive but Oly was following. But this year Oly returns in high level and this is due to their wish to win euroleague and not because the f4 would take place in Athens".
    3. "Greece deserved to have the f4. It is a country with basketball tradition and history, very good teams and great fans".
    4. "During the last years european teams are getting better and better. Even if many good players choose NBA we still have high level players. In the World Championship final, all players (except Pau) were playing in the euroleague. We r proud for this and it is a motive for us to create a better league".
    5. NBA cooperates with Euroleague?
"This is not my vision. We will see what future will bring but this is def not my vision".

i checked the www.euroleague.net for last euroleague (05-06). The teams which participated in the quarter final games after the two stages where all played 20 games (10 in-10 out) and the standings in offence was:

    1. Maccabi 85,55 ppg
    2. PAO 83,3
    3. TAU 79,15
    4. Oly 78,75
    5. CSKA 77,85
    6. BARCA 76,35
    7. Efes 73,55
    8. Real M. 72,9

    In defence:

    1. CSKA 67,05 pg
    2. TAU 69,9
    3. REAL M. 70,8
    4. EFES 72,1
    5. BARCA 72,75
    6. PAO 74,1
    7. OLY 75,45
    8. MaccTA 79,15

Except Real M the other 7 teams participate again this year.

I believe that CSKA will be again the best defence in euroleague, while MTA won't be the best offence because of the loss of great players.
Which team do u believe that will be the best in offense this year (imo PAO and TAU, easy one u will say because of their last year's position and their signings)?

As u all know last year in the final played the best offence vs best defence and best defence won. If CSKA stays the best defence, we found our big favourite...OR NOT?

ps I left the quarterfinal games out of my calculations because of home advantage (please forgive any mistake).

I know there r a lot of threads already. But i saw a lot of posts considered off topic elsewhere.... so there had to be one thread where noone's post or opinion would be considered as off topic.

Unicaja Malaga signed Hungarian Robert Gulias (2,15) with a 1,5 month contract as a temporary replacement of D. Santiago. If Santiago finally returns to the NBA,they will sign some other tall guy for the rest of the season.

Is there any chance for Santiago to not find any NBA team that would like to sign him, and he'll go back to Europe but not to Malaga?

According to www.sportime.gr ESPN asked 6 NBA experts their opinion about who will be the new international star replacing Nowitzki in the coming years.

    M. Spears a famous NBA expert and journalist for 'Denver Post' answered BIG SOFO (player of Olympiakos-Euroleague)!!Spears added that Clippers made a mistake living SOFO one more year away and that if baby Shaq loose some more weight he could be one of best rookies of season 2007-08 in NBA and eventually become one international star.

The other 4 votes shared between Yao and Milicic and 1 voted nothing (cause he noted that is very difficult for someone to be the next Dirk )

Santiago has another year signed with Malaga, so his only choice in Europe is Unicaja

It is ok to have this thread BUT signings and stuff like that should be posted in their respective threads or we're gonna have a big chaos in this whole euroleague forum. I already saw a couple of posts about signings in here
