Antranik Inks Ian Young, - Oct 16, 2011 (by John Khoury)

After failing to get Austin johnson's release from mouttahed, Antranik head coach Decided to sign the american Point Guard Ian Young (191-PG-81, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Auburn).
Antranik management had to pick between young and porter troupe who already got replaced by Austin johnson in mouttahed.
Ian young had an excellent season with gorgon last year along side Sam hoskin who already arrived to lebanon to join Champville.
Aaron Mitchell got his eyes on the 6th position this season, having two good imports with young tallented lebanese players.

Lets remember this guy was voted the best PG in Iran last season. Give him some time..As for Ryadi there really good the way they moved the ball today was really great basketball. It's good to see a team like that playing team basketball.

It was a very close game. Anibal's head coach's dad unfortunately passed away and he had to travel back to his home country to attend the funerals. Moreover their ex nba player ndudi ebi had an injury and couldn't attend the first game. All these factors led to anibal's loss. They have a great team. It's still one loss and we are still at the very beginning gd luck for all teams in the rest of the tournament. Yesterday's game proved that we are going to follow one hell of a league.

Today's game : CHAMPVILLE VS RIYADI (super cup game) It;s the official take off of the lebanese league. Champville might lose the effort of their pf garnett thompson due to a small injury. Riyadi are the favourites to win the cup. They are in full shape and way better prepared.

just came back, the Super Cup was on fire specially in the last quarter.
it ended 84-82 in favor of riyadi.

I saw alot of weaknesses in both teams' games, where should i start:

Fadi el Khatib, amazing, simply put,if you look up the word money time player in the dictionary you're gona find Khatib.
Omgi was thrilled to watch him play today,he'd went into the 3rd quarter with some 16-18 pts, in the last quarter he scored the other 12 for a combined 30 pts, (10/10 from the free throw line),most of his points came in the last 2 minutes of the game,he carried champville on his shoulders to rally them from a 20 pt deficit and turned riyadi's lead into a 2 pt game,he had like 2 basket-ins in the last minute, sensational to see him performing this well at this age,he was getting triple teamed and still able to shoot, from under the basket, fadeaway shots....he sent Jean Abdelnour out with 5 fouls put spencer in foul trouble (4 fouls),unfortunatly after all his efforts,he failed to shoot the winning basket when omar el turk attempted to steal the ball and the time ran out.

It was clear that champville still lack chemistry,id say they should reach their full potential in 1 month, hoskin is a perfect fit,but garnett ....omg worst dribbler ever i see the ball literaly slipping from his hand as he dribbles,i was surprised to see him playing the 1 for a couple of plays, great vision and passing skills thoughstill needs some time and am sure he will be a huge asset to champville.
There were some controversial calls during the game, including 2 back to back technical fouls on GS,and 2 on fadi (one of which was a clean block on billy fares),i wont say that the referees were biased, but there were for sure some unfair whistles in riyadi's favor.
Chamville's biggest weakness remains on the position 1,Carl sarkis is usually playing the 1 and he's clearly not up to the task,he's an okay defender but other than that and his occasional 3 pt shots he stinks, hassan dandash is showin huge progress, great fast defender,he should be the backup PG and Moe brahim should play the 1 (moe is usually playing the 2 when stephan is benched).
Champville are also clearly suffering from the perimeter, they shot less than 10% today from the 3 pt line (had they shot as well as riyadi did the game would've been theirs)

As for riyadi, their level is stable, but one thing i noticed about their star player D spencer...he's hugely overrated.
and he's for sure not a money time player, in the last quarter during champville's huge rally he was almost non-present and he almost cost riyadi their game,he's no leader,he's only a scorer who can shoot the 3,he also missed some crucial FTs in the money time, i dont think he can be compared to nate who,in my opinion, along with fadi el khatib are the best money time players to play in our league.
I think that riyadi will suffer in close games now that nate is gone, frankly D spencer cant fill his shoes,he's a huge scorer no doubt about that, but he's no leader and when it counts he's off.

Lastly i heard that mouttahed trashed antranik today, which means that the league is on fire...
