    Default 2011 FIBA Africa Championship for Women [Bamako, September 23–October 2]

    Format:
    - The 12 teams will be divided into two groups for the preliminary round.
    - Round robin for the preliminary round; the top four teams advance to the quarterfinals.
    - From there on a knockout system is used until the final.

    Angola upset Mali in the semifinals today. Angola-Senegal in the final.

    Angola pulls off another upset in the final, beating Senegal 62-54. First time they have qualified for an Olympics or WC on the women's side.

    Mali beat Nigeria for third place and the last spot in the qualifying tournament.
