All bugs & inconsistencies are finally fixed, so we can proudly present the feature that a few of you has already tested a week ago .
    • Team | Lineups Performance : what lineups are producing/conceding more/less points ( total, per possession) . What lineups should play more , what lineups shouldn't appear on the floor together, no matter what.
    • Boxscore | Lineups Performance : the same as the above, just for one specific game

    Amazing job!!
Unfortunately useless for teams that lost NBA players!

I'm sure some EL coaches will pick suggestion from here!!

Actually that was particularly interesting, seeing how terrible for example the Pekovic-less Partizan lineups performed on offense.
..sorry.. I was Fantasy-EL oriented! What I mean is that is useless for FantasyEL players who wants suggestion.. they can't have hints about team who prevoiusly had NBA players in the lineups..

    New features:

    Rosters Geomap

Represents geographical location of teams roster's players' birthplaces as well as other relevant information like birthday, height , team, position.
Pretty interesting info , with some mystic coincidences : Doron Perkins & a man that unintentionally lead to his injury - Caja Laboral's Brad Oleson were both born in the same tiny Alaskan town Anchorage , with birthdays separated by a couple of weeks

I've found out that Kirilenko is AK-47 not only because of his name acronym AK & his 47 number, but because he was born in Izhevsk : a place where AK rifles are produced.

    Players details table

Pretty useful list to find out who is the EL oldest/youngest player ( relative to his position/team/place of birth & even minutes per game )

It also useful to check how many Lithuanians playing this year in EL (17), and how many of them were born in Kaunas (6).

    New feature:

Meet the new Wonder of the World: Floating Average for Teams' Statistics

Sorting the team data according to some parameter let you see whether your team perform better or worse then a league average.

For example sorting by '+/-' for week 11, reveals that majority of winning teams tend to shoot less threes (3PA/FGA) then the average 3PA/FGA of 31% . The only exceptions being UNICS and Efes.

    New feature: players names pronunciation

What an impressive assist of Tesodic … It’s not the best game of Sanovic.
Unnamed EL TV commentator during CSKA-Efes game.

The idea was floating around for some time. ACB.com had something similar for 2010-2011 season. Thanks for the feature go to ip84 who pointed out that it would be very useful for EL too.

For the present moment we have a majority of Spanish teams players covered (thanks to ACB.com) and a dozen of players from other teams ( Eidson, Eliyahu, Katic, etc) .

It's not some new revolutionary feature, just a new interface to make existing data access a lot easier:

To help the EL TV/radio commentators and to help people willing to contribute players names pronunciation to check existing samples

Now each team has all players names pronunciation put within one page:

Team | Roster | Names Pronunciation

New feature : Players | Clutch Performance

The idea of this feature belongs to robbe.

Clutch time is defined when 2 conditions are met: 1) 35 min or more 2) the score difference 5 points or less ( e.g. if the gap is 5 pts and a FT was made to increase a gap to 6 pts, this FT isn't included in clutch stats )

The reasons behind : a gap of single/double digits ( 9 pts or less) is too big, 1 possession ( 2-3 pts ) is too small . Two possessions ( 5 pts) or a half of single/double digits gap seems to describe a recoverable ( in 5 min) gap quite well.

Please note 35+ min condition covers the both 5 min to go of regular time as well as any number of OTs.

With all those "twitter revolutions" rocking on lately , we had to be a part of it

There is no doubt that twitter is a tool of choice of majority of basketball players and EL player are no exception, so it was only matter of time before we added twitter integration to STATS.IN THE GAME

New feature : Team | Roster | Twitters

New feature : Player | Twitter

    Mostly facelift changes

Added: content aware title pages ( e.g. Oly-Gala game boxscore now has "Olympiacos - Galatasaray" mention in its page title) for every page: http://www.in-the-game.org/statistic...1&boxscore=161 . Props to prtzn for the feature.

Changed: arranged team page and derived pages in the style of global stats pages ( drop-menus first, page description second) : http://www.in-the-game.org/statistic...=CSKA%20Moscow .

    New feature:

    Team | Wins - Losses:http://www.in-the-game.org/statistic...tepaschi+Siena

    Team | Opponents Wins - Losses: http://www.in-the-game.org/statistic...eam=Olympiacos

This feature allows to spot the key stats parameters between some teams' losses & wins.

For example for MTA it's assists : 8 for losses , 17 for wins. For Pao- threes percents 39% for wins, 33% (losses)

Meet the new wonder of the world : Boxscore | Game Flow

Lineups was an awesome feature to add, yet it lacked the dynamics of the game, this feature is the solution.

It allows to follow after a game dynamics: providing head-to-head lineups on the floor at every given moment of the game.

Which substitutions were successful and which subs weren't. What coach decisions succeed to change the opposite side momentum , what shouldn't be taken at all.

H - home team points, V - visitor team points, +/- - home team plus/minus (place a mouse over +/- numbers to see a partial score of this time interval )

    New feature:

Players | On Court - Off Court Statistics

The idea belongs to robbe. I think everybody here remember his old on-court/off court tables : pretty good way to estimate players contribution to team offense / defense . Contrary to absolute values of +/-, this feature highlights relative contribution to the team performance with or without certain player on the floor.

ORAT, DRAT - number of points scores/conceded for 100 team possessions. 100 is a standard number here, EL average number of possessions per game is ~73.

Easter egg ( as a gift to Easter ) : you can manually change the number of possessions by adding pos=73 to the table URL, this way
    http://www.in-the-game.org/statistics/index.php?global=players&type=oos&club=all&positio n=all&round=full&filter=15&season=2011&pos=73

This way you can check the average player contribution per game for your team.

Eurocup Final Four games are added to the stats site:

    Added:

Assists selector for Team| Assists Chart

    The options are
    • all assists
    • assists to close range shots ( a place to spot pick-n-rolls, assisted post ups)
    • assists to mid range shots
    • assists to 2 Pts shots
    • assists to 3 Pts shots ( pick-n-pops, inside-outs )

Some individual preferences are easily seen: for example Sofo passes a ball only for Blu's threes when himself unable to score. Sofo close range assists options: Eliyahu, Hendrix. Mid range : Ohayon, Blu, Eliayhu.

Not really a new feature, but improvement that was requested quite a lot:

addition of week numbers to game logs in boxscores, team and players pages.

    New changes:

    • added & updated regularly: NBA playoffs ( for those who missed an open dedicated thread ). Euro-style presentation makes it rather interesting to compare team/players performance by Euroleague-style performance ranking.
    • added: Week selector for global players statistics : allows to compare players production for one specific week. BTW, each game Final Four MVP ranking wise ( the way it calculated for RS, Top16 week was Kirilenko ( twice) both for semis & the final

    Added:

    • Season Ranking Points according to EL ranking system ( 2 points for a win, 1 point for a loss, bonus points for reaching Top16, Playoffs, Final Four ) : link

Allows to determine the best team for some particular round or to spot ranking system flaws : Barca got only 8 points for sweeping Unics 3-0, in the same time Pao got 10 points for 3-2 win over MTA.
