    Default Roads in Russia (photos)

These news are ~1 week old, and the situation have probably changed, but still I would like to post them here.

There were heavy rains in the Yakutsk district of Russia, and the only road to the center of the district - the interstate "Lena" became, how russians now say, just a direction.

This is not the worst part of the road. On the worst part you cannot hold the camera in your hands. In the worst part there is a traffic jam of 300 trucks and even more ordinary cars.

The people are hungry, the gas is running out, one woman even gave birth to a child in a bus. The road workers don't show up, as if they do, they are beaten by the drivers cruelly. Earlier the stuck people were eating mushrooms, and now the temperature felt down, so there are no more food in the woods. People started to open the containers of the trucks in order to find something to eat or put on themselves to fight the cold. The most expensive thing there now is the gas, food, guns and wire rope.

The situation on the road already made an impact on the food market in Yakutsk, as the stuck trucks cannot bring the products, thought for the Central Yakutia. The prices for the vegetables are beating all the records, and as it always is, the price fever for some unexplainable reason concentrates on a particular product. Nobody can't explain, but the people of Yakutsk are concerned the most about the onions. The price for one kilogram of this vegetable have risen from 25 roubles (a bit less than 1 USD) up to 160 roubles (about 6 bucks).

The photos from the city itself:

That's the answer why europeans who wanted to conquer and to rule "Mama" Russia were crazy

    Some interesting info to add:

    1. Yakutsk district it's Russia's diamond and gold industry center.
    2. Obviously squads of women have pulled from the water most of those hundreds of drowned trucks.

I saw these pictures on englishrussia.com. This is meant to be a highway to Yakutsk? From where? Yakutsk is so far away I can't imagine travelling there with anything else but plane. So Russians drive from like Moscow to Yakutsk on a road like this? That's unbelievable!

Yeah I thought roads in Hungary are so bad too. But they are superb compared to this...at least they have asphalt.

Guys Russia is a huge country. In Moscow most roads are renewed every summer.Much better than Greece where we fix our roads every 4 yrs on the pre-elections period or whenever we organize the Olympics
In the meantime when it starts raining you can slide your way to work

At first, I thought it was a thick mud layer on asphalt road, carried by the flood. But, it looks like there was no asphalt at all underneath. I don't know if this was really the case, but it would be incredible for a road so crowded and in a region apparently having so much precipitation.
