Group G: is the most even one, I cant predict any team to go through, I would not be surprised if Panathinaikos would have problems, but they are a favorite for me. Unics is a great team, Armani should start playing now, they have quality and still have potential to improve...Fenerbahce has a lot of talent but these players still dont give me the impression that they have winners mentality as a team.

Group F: I expect Real and Siena to go through. Real played the best basketball together with CSKA and Barcelona for me. Siena with Mccaleb should be too much for Unicaja and Bilbao.

Group E: Interesting group with one clear favorite, that is CSKA. Others should all have chances to reach second spot, GS with the lowest chances.

Group H: One clear favorite is Barcelona for me. Maccabi is favorite for 2nd spot. Cantu is a solid team and I think that Žalgiris is on the way up. Is playing better since Lawson left, also Kalnietis started playing better. I see Maccabi going a bit down since Farmer left and they still need time to incorporate Mallet in a system. So I should be interesting first game in Lithuania.

Btw. Lawson scored 27 points in 31 min in his first game in NBA, run and gun no-defence basketball, I think he cant score that much in any game in Euroleague...

ULEB needs to sort themselves. You can't have 2 Turkish teams or 3 Spanish teams in one group. This is ever present of course, but 3 Spanish teams takes the award for worst group ever

i watched all Unics Kazan EL matches either live or taped and fener matches live. They r much better team than Fener, they would win the sucks A group easily by 9-1/8-2. Fener fans r daydreaming, Pao and Unics will qualify

and most likely Efes'll qualify behind CSKA, they have limitless budged, they ll upgrade by kicking out ilievski and getting a good guard and maybe a PF too. But sorry to say that, this Efes team cant be upgraded to a F4 team

Panathinaikos and CSKA are one or two levels above the rest in their respectable groups. Panathinaikos can potentially gear up two levels between regular season and F4, but the champs sometimes struggle to make the change in the first three games of the top 16. We'll have to see if they manage to build momentum in the top 16. There is no doubt that Pao is clearly the best in the group. However, I wouldn't say that there is a clear second favorite. Milano is a new team which needs time and is getting better during the course of the season. I don't think Fener and Kazan can beat milano in their home court. Likewise, Fotsis, Nicholas and Bourousis will be steamed up in the matches against Pao. So they can be a threat for Pao too. In short, I think that every team in this group can make the play offs. Pao ofcourse has the best chances to reach first spot. And for those who say that Pao never reaches the final four after they became champions. Not quite true. They were in the final four in 2000-2001-2002.

CSKA is without a doubt the best team in group E and unlike Panathinaikos they do not under perform in top 16, so they will win the group. Olympiakos and Efes will fight for the second place in their group. Efes being the favorite because they have a deeper roster. Olympiakos however, has an elite guard and an elite coach. Two factors the Turks are missing. Potentially Olympiakos can down Efes. Especially if Spanoulis has some of his wild nights. The thing is though, that Spanoulis is injured and will miss the first two games. Even if he comes back he won't be able to reach his best shape. This will help efes edge Olympiakos, but it won't be easy and Ivkovic does not like loosing against Turkish teams. Galatasaray is the joker card of the group. Such team always makes a mess of the predictions. They are a danger for Efes, because they can steal a victory from them.

Barcelona and Maccabi are clearly favorites in group H, but Bilbao and Unicaja won't make it easy for Siena and Real.

    Bullshit?
    That's how it should be.

You shouldn't even want to "occupy" the Arena when your team is playing away.
Especially when most of GS fans have supported Efes against Fener for like 6 years.
This is against the competition's nature. You've got a home game, that's your chance to full the arena.

    --

I think we shouldn't make any predictions based on previous years.
PAO's traditional struggling in top 16 does not mean that they'll do it again
and Milano having Fotsis and Bourousis does not mean that they have a higher potential than they have already shown.

And, what's with the sympathy towards these Russian clubs? I think UNICS is by far the most unlikable team in top 16.

Anyone else's feeling like Real won't make it to f4?

pana is clearly favourite in our group.
for the second spot, Fenerbahce has more chance than EA and unics because of deep squad.

unics and armani has no home court atmosphere. We play better in away games for two years and in top 16 turkcan and tomas will be ready which means more rebounder and more defensive team than regular season.

If we win all our home games, we will qualify top 8, but as long as we don't get 4 win, I never speak about qualification again

..are you talking about a Suproleague Final? the one lost in Paris against MTA? ..that's not an EL F4...

In May 2001, Europe had two continental champions, Maccabi of the FIBA SuproLeague and Kinder Bologna of the ULEB Euroleague
F4 system entered from 2001-2002, while the first Euroleague of the modern era (ULEB) had a best of 5 final serie

This year I think Barça will win. They are too strong. CSKA made 10-0, but numbers are not important in regular groups.
Panathinaikos show same performance every year. What is it? struggle in regular season, struggle in top16, loose first 2-3 games. Than in miracle win the last 3-4 games and reach quarter finals.
Win the other games and reach final) This year it will be the same, Panathinaikos - Barcelona. But this time Obradoviç will not made it and Barcelona will win.

With Ukic injured and out of Top16, I would take Fenerbahce out of contention for our group

    Probably Pao+Kazan will qualify...

For sure, He manages the team better than Ukic for now but I hope Ukic will be back as healthy soon. We need him for Top 16 games.
