Default Fadi El Khatib to Play Out Of Lebanon ????

    http://akhbarlelnasher.com/node/20548

in An Interview with Fadi El Khatib (199-SF)(LEB) Captain Of Champville Maristes Club and the Lebanese National Team and Also the Best Lebanese Sport Player of the year ,Khatib Talked about The Arab Cup ,and he said no one should blame Sarkis there was no preparation and nothing ,even The Dream Team USA when they didn t prepared they lost ,it s not a big task ,we should bounce Back ,and he said an important thing that he not Retire and he will Always be next to the National Team to help our Team
Also he Talked about Champville that they are competing on the title this Year and they will win it ,but it will not be an easy Task ,it will be hard with the presence of Riyadi and the other teams as he said
But The Biggest Surprise Was :He Said he will Stay with Champville and With Ghassan Sarkis even I m getting a lot of Offers to play in Arab Countries and China ,Korea ,Iran and also European Countries but the Biggest Surprise that i got A Very Huge Contract with a Very Big Number ,he will not Say the Name of the country or the Number of the Contract because it will make a Huge Shock for Lebanese and this will be the only offer who could take him away from Champville and all Lebanese People will be Proud of him and this Offer if he signed it ,and he s now studying this offer
Good to luck to Our Tiger ,i think to talk about it in the Media ,for Sure it s huge because every Day he s receiving Offers and offers from Asia ,Europe ,Arab ... but he s not considering Anyone ,he prefered to Play in Lebanon ,but I Think it s an NBA Offer even he s at the Age of 32 or Maybe a huge European team Like Barca Regal and these teams ... Proud of our Big Player ,Fadi El Khatib !!
Hope we will see him in NBA !

if it's Barca, then why did he turn down the Pistons guy in the summer ?
Playing in the NBA was his dream. With respect to Barca, but NBA is a different standard.

Fadi tried to play outside Lebanon before when he played for the Cherkasy Monkeys and it didn't work out for him because he found it very difficult to be away from his family and country (his contract was for $2 Million for 4 years back then in 2007).

So I don't believe he will go to play abroad again... Fadi is also 32 and it's not guaranteed how long will he be able to still play at such a high level...

Pistons owner (Tom Gores) is originally Lebanese/Palestinian and he mentioned before that he would like to have Fadi playing for his team so the Pistons are a possible name.

Do not underestimate the NBA level. I watch 2 games a day on average and the difference between the FLB and NBA is indescribable. Fadi is past his prime and no team in the NBA would be willing to take a chance on him, and even if the Pistons did, he would get very limited playing time. It's way too late for him.

    So true.
However Fadi is an exceptional player and he prove that against big NTs. The best example in his case regarding the age was WC 2010. He did perform some big games even though the NT didn't succeed to qualify to the second round.

About getting very limited playing time, it's not an issue if he wants to honor his career with a tremendous closing. At the end even he knows he still have those 3-4 years before retirement.

Guys take a look at Haddadi. He was one of the best players in Asia, but ever since he joined the Grizzlies he has been barely given any chance to play . I know Fadi is a terrific scorer but i don't think he's quick enough to play in the NBA. He surely had the capabilities to be there ten years ago but right now, I'm afraid Europe is the farthest he can go.

But C position is very Different from Guard Position in NBA ,we can see more talented American Players on the Guard position ,in other way on the C position we can See always NBA Teams are Getting International Players on this Position Big Example (Yao Ming ,Yi Jianlin ,Hamed Hadadi,Pau Gasol ,Marc Gasol ,Noah Joakim ...) and when we come to talk about the Guard position we can t see this Big Number of international Players ,i know it s really difficult ,even Juan Carlos Navvaro didn't succeed in NBA because he s not atheletic and also he s a role player ,can t penetrate these thing ,About Fadi we all Know that he s an Overall Player can do Everything on the court ,Leading ,Scoring ... everything ,but when we come to talk about NBA i think Having Khatib of the bench lfor every team in NBA can add a big Value the team ,Khatib of the Bench can kill for 10 Min ,20 maybe more ... all what he needs is to be athletic there ,but sure he can be In NBA ,let's talk about 2010 and forgot 2006 when he killed France ,about 2010 against Canada no one stopped him ,inside outside ...he can be a back up for Players in NBA ,he s experienced ,smart player ,know how to score and how to finish a game ,if it was not NBA i think it will be a Well Known European Team like Regal Barca ,Madrid ,Galatasaray ,Olympiacos these teams and i msure in these teams he can start the game in the First 5 !

This is one more reason why he probably won't succeed in the nba
There is no way a 33 year old Fadi would get 20 minutes a game, even 10 minutes seems too much, i'm not hating on him but i'm just trying to face the reality
Any team in today's NBA would have destroyed this Canadian squad. The reason why Fadi has been so affective is that Baldwin designed isolation plays for him in the 4th quarter which gave him the opportunity to score on weaker defenders. There is no way that this strategy would work in the NBA since every team's level is higher than last summer's Canadian national team. Let's face it they were lead by ANDY RAUTINS who is yet to do something in the NBA (He played for a combined 24 minutes in an 82 game season last year)

Once again I don't have anything against Fadi but the NBA is not for him anymore.

OT: Rautins already got waived by the Mavs right before the start of the NBA season and is now in the Spanish ACB league playing with CB Lucentum Alicante.

The NBA teams imo are not interested in signing free agents who don't have NBA experience and are old in age... If you guys remember Tanguy Ngombo got drafted by the NBA this year but the main reason why his name was quickly dropped is because they found out he was lying about his age and other details as well...

Well this could be an endless discussion. It's all about him now.
If he accept the challenge then we'll wait and see.

i remember when khatib played with Cherkassy Monkeys in Ukranian League ,he was putting very good Numbers there ,he was so good and leading the team ,but he decided to not left his family in lebanon ,then Riyadi and him i think payed the contract fee and returned to Lebanon ,so i don t think it s a normal offer like others ,that s the point ...when he said it will be a shock for Lebanese People ,OR an NBA offer or a High European Offer !
