True true. Douthit does change some things. i was more alluding to the fact (if you were watching the game) that Willie Miller were owning TNT guards and posting them up all night that Chot decided to show some zone in the 4th quarter. The zone did work and TNT came back but Barako just took advantage of their bigger guards to get that healthy lead.
Barako with a 4 point lead with seconds to go. Virtually over...
IF THERE IS NO BASKETBALL IN HEAVEN, I AM NOT GOING.
Chot Reyes' small ball is getting exploited by Baculi and he is making it look easy. They overload defensively on the mismatch and Barako punishes them with open 3s. If a local club can pound on their size superiority then what more against the bigger Asian teams
Exactly what i was alluding to.
Anyway, Chot's style has always been a feast-or-famine team-- if it's working (watch Game 2) it's a thing of beauty to watch and very difficult to beat. If it's not working (like Game 1 and tonight) it's sore to the eyes-- and the ring (they shot 6 of 28 from beyond in this game.) To beat the best Asian teams, i am liking this style actually.![]()

There you go. The ploy of icing the game via brownout to help TNT comeback backfired. haha!
I honestly think that TNT did not deserve to win tonight. They played sloppy ball from the get go. Monta Castro scored only 4 pts in the 1st half. Ranidel played poorly while Alapag stooped down to the level of Tubid and had himself thrown out.
As for Barako Bull, they played extremely well from start to finish. Aggressive early and did not falter despite the rally of TNT. The old guys won again. In street slang, "na mama sila ng Barako".
FOUR-ward for the Big Red Machine
