Seems like an unfortunate situation. Lebanon needs to appoint a coach free of personal problems because these are unnecessary drawbacks to an NT. I think Fadi Abou Chakra (I hope I get the spelling right) would have been a better choice.

Philippines also miss many star players but in a different situation,its not about the coach but for the team owners who don't want to release their key players.But as what coach say -its not about the best players its about the best team..

I have high hopes about the second smart gilas which is composed of Pro players from the PBA unlike the 1st Smart Gilas which is composed of amateur players reinforced by 4 pro players in the last fiba championship but still manage to be in the top 4 with what 4yrs preparation?

This 2nd Smart Gilas composed of some teams role players from the PBA with only 2 weeks of preparation still won the 34th jones cup title.still this team is not yet final lineup but i have high hopes that this team will be in the top 4 this Fiba championship 2013 especially if Javelle Mcgee of denver nuggets will be allowed by his team to play with us.we will see what will happen then when we form our final lineup..

As for lebanon team there still strong no doubt about it,i just want the best lebanese team out there in the Fiba championship 2013.Anyways it will be a great game between this 2 team coming Fiba cup..Good Luck to both teams..

I hope Phi. team will take this Chinese team seriously despite the fact that this Chinese team is youth laden & perhaps inexperience.

We have to remember that in 2007, the Chot Reyes-mentored RP team faced a Chinese team-B, also made up of young players (perhaps with an average age of 22 years old at that time) and the Chinese were able to beat our PBA-select national team in the Manila Invitational Tournament. Although we were able to get back at the Chinese in the 2007 FIBA-Asia men's Championships not just once but twice. But those victories were hard-earned ones.

We can't take the Chinese lightly even if it's a very young team.
