there are Many Rumors these Days ,Many are Saying that 99 % That Riyadi Qualified to Asia ,after Winning Asia 2011 and Winning the Lebanese League ,so they will Host this Championship in Beirut ,and others are Saying what if Champville Passed Riyadi in WABL so Champville Have The Rights to Play Asia 2012 ,and i Think WABL Will Take the Decisions and they will make it Clear ,If Champville Passed Riyadi in WABL they will Both Play in Asia 2012 in Beirut Lebanon !! in My Opinion if both of them played they will add a lot of Value to this Championship ,due to their High level both of Them with Mahram for Sure !! and Also Hagop Said that The Syrian Teams aren't participating so Maybe we Can Add another Lebanese Team and Maybe Iranian Team so 2 LEB Teams and 2 IRN Teams

New Zone for FIBA Asia Champions Clubs ! - Feb 18, 2012 (by Omar Shafaamri )

FIBA Asia Federation approved in it's last Meeting New Major Modifications by Creating a New Sub Zone with 1 Representative for FIBA Asia Champions Clubs which will be played Next June in Lebanon. This Change will decrease the Number of West Asia Zone Representatives to 3 Clubs thus both Riyadi-Aramex (Jordan) and Duhok (Iraq) will play 2 decisive games for the Qualification to FIBA Asia Champions Clubs.

Riyadi-Aramex will play next tuesday their Second Game against Mahram (Iran) in WABA League Quarter Finals as they lost in Amman 91-52, Riyadi will miss their coach Mo'tasem Salameh (due to Work Commitments!!!) and his Assistant Hussam Lutfi (due to Visa Problems!!!) in addition to Players Issa Kamel & Fadi Saqqa (Injury).

I Think Aramex need Daghlas and Abbas Back with 2 Good Foreigners and they will be Fine ,if they will still play like before they will losse against Duhok !!!
in Asia if they Qualified they can make some impact but for sure it will be hard to match Riyadi Beirut and Mahram Irn and Chanpville !!

Al Riyadi Beirut (Lebanon) And Mahram (Iran) To Asia 2012 !!
Champville Team ,the Lebanese Team ,they are out ...there is no way to play in Asia 2012 because Al Riyadi will host this Championship !

-Fadi El Khatib (199-SF)(LEB) Will Not Join Al Riyadi Beirut in the Asian 2012 Championship in Beirut !!

-Al Riyadi Beirut Will sign Matt Freijie (208-PF)(LEB) To Play with Them ,also and maybe they will change Ismail Ahmad (205-PF) Or Dewarick Spencer (192-SG) ,by a Center player ,maybe Loren Woods (218-C)(USA)

This I hear every single year but every year it's the same: 1) no East Asian participation and 2) no World Club Championship anywhere to be found.

FIBA Asia delay leaves Philippines without a team for Champions’ Cup
    Rey Joble, InterAKTV · Thursday, September 27, 2012 · 6:07 pm

FIBA Asia president Sheikh Saud Al-Thani and secretary-general Hagop Khajirian along with SBP president Manuel V. Pangilinan and executive-director Sonny Barrios in last year's FIBA Asia Champions Cup
The Philippines won’t be sending a team to the FIBA Asia Champions’ Cup, the governing body’s top club competition slated on October 13 to 21 in Beirut, Lebanon.

But the reason for the lack of participation is not a boycott, but rather, a problem with communication involving FIBA Asia secretary-general Hagop Khajirian.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas executive director Sonny Barrios had earlier sought clarification with Khajirian about which team had the right to represent the country in the club competition, but received a reply when it was already too late to form a team.

“I received a letter from Noli Eala last July 15 and he told me that San Miguel Beer should be the one representing the country in the FIBA Asia Champions’ Cup,” said Barrios. The San Miguel Beermen finished second in the ASEAN Basketball League, the successor to the SEABA Champions’ Cup.

“But I sought clarification from Mr. Hagop because based on the FIBA Asia internal regulations, the top three teams of the recent tournament, excluding the host, are qualified to join the tournament. So that means SMART-Gilas, which finished fourth in the tournament we hosted last year, can also qualify.”

Khajirian did not provide an answer for Barrios until the official’s visit to Manila last August, saying that the Beermen had the right to represent the Philippines.

By then, however, San Miguel no longer had players who could suit up for the squad as it began rebuilding for next season’s ABL tournament.

“Wala na kaming players ngayon dahil yung tournament na sasalihan namin sa ABL, sa January pa,” said San Miguel Corporation sports official Robert Non, who currently serves as chairman of the PBA Board of Governors.

According to Barrios, Khajirian admitted that there are conflicts in the FIBA regulations, leading to the confusion.

“He told me that he will fix it in the near future,” said Barrios.

Khajirian also told Barrios that the Philippines could not simply field another team in lieu of San Miguel.

“He said we cannot drop the name of the team because it’s a club tournament and San Miguel is the one which qualified in the Champions Cup,” said Barrios.

The SBP suggested forming its own team that will carry the San Miguel brand, to be sponsored by SMC. But the conglomerate begged off.

    Possible sanctions

Hagop told Barrios that the Philippines could face possible sanctions for being unable to field a team for the competition.

But Barrios said the SBP showed extra effort to try to field a team.

“We tried reasonable ways to field a team and showed effort in participation. We are a good abiding citizen of FIBA. It’s just unfortunate that such a thing happened,” added Barrios.

Barrios hopes this issue won’t affect the slim chances for the Philippines’ bid to host next year’s FIBA Asia Championship. The governing body earlier awarded the rights to Lebanon, but asked the Philippines to be on standby in case the original choice proved to not be capable of hosting.

It is clear that the Philippines is not interested in getting the gold in this tournament.

That's true.... Unfortunately I think one of the main reasons these teams stopped participating has to do with the cancelling of the McDonald's Championship which the winner of Asian Club Championship used to participate in (The last one that was held was in Italy in 1999 which Sagesse participated in after they defeated Liaoning from China in the final)... And that happened to be the last time we saw a team from China participate in this tournament and after that by a few years teams from Japan and South Korea also stopped participating as well.

It`s getting time by the FIBA to launch a FIBA "CLUB WORLD CUP" like in football, handball volleyball.
If such a tournament exist, any of these nation will send a team - the best team, not only a x-leagueteam, that was planed by the Philipines...

FIBA was supposed to have this World Club Championship from last year but it never materialized...
