I think this is correct. Assuming McGee gets to be naturalized, he would be holding dual citizenship - as an American and as a Filipino. No foreign player in his right mind would give up his natural citizenship unless he came from a Bangladesh or Myanmar. Having dual citizenship would mean that he gets the privileges of a Filipino without giving up his American rights as well...
