One can be jealous about Ramunas’ life in sports. He was an integral part of several great teams. Siskauskas has become the European champion with Lithuanian National Team in 2003, he won the bronze of 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2007 Eurobasket. All the clubs he played for has become the champions of their respective countries. Siska’s collection includes gold medals of Lithuanian, Italian, Greek leagues and, obviously, 5 Russian League titles with army men. Ramunas was also one of the heroes of two Euroleague victories: as Panathinaikos player he beat CSKA in 2007. One year later wearing red and blue he has become the Euroleague MVP and an important chain for CSKA title win in Madrid.

    Siskauskas played 91 Euroleague games with CSKA (11.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg, 54.1% two-pointers, 43.4% three-pointers, 80.7% free throws), 42 Russian BEKO PBL League games (9.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 spg, 59.1% two-pointers, 40.4% three-pointers, 87.0% free throws), 11 Russian Cup games (13,7 ppg, 3,3 rpg, 2,4 apg, 0,7 spg, 59.5% two-pointers, 50.0% three-pointers, 86.4% free throws) and 29 VTB United League games (7.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.1 spg, 44.4% two-pointers, 38.0% three-pointers, 89.4% free throws).

    Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:

Ramunas is the person I was always able to lay upon, on and off the court. His experience, tremendous skills, wisdom has become an important parts of CSKA success. Ramunas proved that he can do everything on the court, he is able to solve any task by the coach.
Siskauskas is a decent, intelligent person, a great family man. It is an incredible pleasure to talk with him, his wife Edita, his children. His unchanging calm and amazing friendliness helped maintain a warm microclimate within the team. I sincerely wish Ramunas and his family to fully enjoy life after sport. We are always glad to see them in Moscow.

Wow didn't see that coming... According to this he took the decision in the middle of the season.

Great player, great personality. Probably the best and most important Lithuanian player after Šaras in 00's generation. His basketball intelligence will be missed.

    The flick from the future...

one of my favorites lithuanian players ever ! One of our 2003 championship team key players. That 4 men attack Jasikevicius-Macijauskas-Siskauskas-Stombergas and "goalkeeper" Zukauskas from 2003 was my favorite lineup of Lietuva i have ever seen. Thanks for all good memories Siska, you will never be forgotten our "baltic Pippen" !

A bit unexpected, he still had 1 year left in his contract with CSKA if I'm not wrong, so didn't see that comin', but also it didn't make me upset or smth, maybe cause he isn't with NT anymore for a few years. However, he was quite big part of our bball history and arguably the best Lith NT ever in 2003/2004

He had one year contract with CSKA but it was +1 meaning it was a players option. Juts like for example Rice has a contract with Rytas but is players option if he stays or goes somewhere else to play.

It was an ok decision. Siskauskas wanted retire until he could play in highest level so that's it.

I will be more sad when Saras will retire since retirement will signalize an end of one good for lithuanian basketball era.
