Qatar is a country located in the Gulf and they play in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region and thus are not part of the WABA (West Asian Basketball Association).

WABA includes the following countries: Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Yemen and Iraq

GCC includes the following countries: Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman

it's really weird that the GCC doesn't consider yemen as part of them. Shame on these rich countries who doesn't help yemen (their neighbour) to grow.

OT: What's even more weird is that last year there was a possibility that Jordan and Morocco might join the GCC

hahaha now that's funny. Instead of doing so let's try to merge WABA with GCC in order to increase competition and number of games.
