Default The "Game a Week" IBN group or thread?

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would like to start an informal group or simply a thread where one IBN member a week can post a link to a game and then we can all watch it then discuss/give commentary. If you are like me, you joined IBN primarily to meet basketball enthusiasts from around the world and to see how other nation's styles and cultures have impacted the way their teams are developed and play. That's why, for this group, I would like to get members from as many different countries as possible and then rotate each week so that a new member from a different country may choose a game for us all to watch. I'd love to watch a historical game in Phillipines basketball history and then be able to give my input on it.

So to start, I'd just like to put a 'feeler' out there to see how many other members would be interested. Please respond back to this thread if this would interest you. Also, any feedback on how best to structure a group like this would be welcome too.

Thanks CKR, I'd definitely be interested in seeing some East Asian games even if this group doesn't get started.

This sounds interesting, the only thing keeping me from full commitment is my schedule, but if I happen to be on when a game is streaming I'd be sure to stop by.
The Rules learned in the Prediction game.
    1: Brazil is always disappointing
2: Never dismiss Argentina solely because of age.
3: Never bet against Spain in a knockout game, unless it is against the US.

Yeah, even though I prompted this whole thing I think I'm in the same boat as you, I've got a busy schedule. I was envisioning someone simply posting a link to an old game each week with some personal or national/league significance and then we can all watch it at our leisure that week and discuss it throughout the week until the next game is posted.

The closest thing we could have is the Olympic QT and the Olympics. How about that?

I'm busy during the day but I got tons of hours until the wee hours of the morning. Perfect for French Pro A games.

Why not start with some warm-up games between Olympic-bound and/or Olympic qualifying teams? Post a link and I'll watch it.

Those are great, CKR, but what I had in mind for this group was sharing older games from leagues we weren't familiar with or as a way to share a game starring one's all time favorite player/team or a game of great historical basketball significance.

I'm not sure how many old games IBN users have found embedded somewhere or on youtube but I'd just love to watch some, especially during that down time between big tournaments or when our respective national leagues are in their offseasons.

Oh ok, I get it. How about we start off with some selections on the video section. Lots of good games there.

To be honest I've never tapped into the IBN forum downloads. You may do the honors if you'd like, CKR.

Will do. How about some classic East Asian Basketball game?
