Hoping to get to this on Saturday. TBH I wonder if they really want many "civilians" showing up, as they're using a facility with limited seating and even more limited parking.

    US teams named:

    East
    Midwest
    West

Many top names missing or not confirmed from the original list (Joel Berry, Dakari Johnson).

On paper and if the roster is confirmed, Canada looks one of the favorites, with Wiggins, Zabo, Lyles, Rathan-Mayes, Ennis, Shayok, etc.

In the meantime, Lithuania U18 vs Puerto Rico 83-79 in the opener.

the USA teams don't look as strong on paper as the last Nike Global Challenge. I would say that the Canadians should be favored over any of these USA teams.

Saw the last 1.3 games tonight. Lithuania was down "only" 15 in the third quarter when I arrived, but it got away from them quickly as the US scored a flurry of fast break baskets. Liths looked tired and didn't get back on defense. #20 (Raupys?) hobbled off late in the game after appearing to hurt his knee.

US West killed Puerto Rico with defensive pressure and transition offense in the first half of the last game, #12 and #13 for the West (Jones and Lee?) ran the floor well for easy baskets. Intensity dropped in the second half but Puerto Rico couldn't hit anything. West took a lot of shots from the high-school three-point line and not many from the international line in use for this tournament.

Well considering this team managed to lose to Colombia of all teams last Fiba Americas, losing by 29 was actually a good thing. I expected a 50 point blowout. We're losing ground without a structure in the federation.

Noticed Derek Reese is a new name (at least to me) in Puerto Rico team.
Should be him ,if I'm not wrong.

Salsapr, this team is not the same that took part in the qualifier a few weeks ago. This team, is seems to be a little better, but still, not enough to beat this USA squads in this tournament, which they have to be the best teams in this tournament. Still, it seems that PR did very well against Lithuania loosing a close one here. The most important thing in this tournament is the experience that this kid are going to get in this tournament.

Canada-USA East 101-96 (OT), probably a big show. Wiggins was high for the winners with 23 and Lyles scored another double-double (15+11). Theo Pinson effort (23+10) wasn't sufficient for the Eastern boys who will play again in a few hours vs Brazil, which is 1-1 after defeating China 85-75. China's Gao Shang is averaging over 30 ppg.

Canada beat USA East 101-96 in overtime. Entertaining in a sloppy track meet kind of way, Canada was up 12 at halftime but the US came back to take the lead for much of the fourth quarter. Wiggins hit two late free throws to send it to OT where it was back and forth until Duane Notice converted an and-one to give Canada a 99-95 lead. Pinson probably had the best game for the East team, hit a late three in regulation to give them the lead and did a good job defensively on Wiggins at times. Anthony Barber made some important hustle plays in the third quarter when the US made their comeback. Wiggins really gets high above the rim. Good crowd for this game with pretty much every important college coach and lots of regular fans.

Brazil beat China 85-75 in the first game. Shang from China followed up his 35 from Friday with 29 today even through Brazil had a guy shadowing him for most of the game. Maybe Brazil can pull the upset over USA East tonight as the Americans could be pretty drained from the Canada game.

Lithuania was beating USA West 45-41 at halftime. Lietuvans looked a lot better than last night, not getting beaten for easy transition baskets and hitting some threes.

    It's Canada-USA Midwest for the 1st place.
In its 2nd game of the day, Canada disposed of China, playing without Wiggins, Lyles and Rathan-Mayes, who probably were rested after the OT match won over USA East. This latter lost to Brazil and will play for the 5th place with Lithuania, that narrowly lost in OT to USA West.
For the third place, Brazil vs USA West.

USA Midwest earns the 2012 title defeating Canada 100-86, unexpected to me. Midwest team outrebounded Canada 53-28 and was led by James Young (an invitee to the U17 US world's team tryouts, wasn't able to attend) with 29+10. SF Nick King and C/F Bobby Portis also scored double-doubles, Wesley Clark 6 ast. Andrew Wiggins with 24 was high for Canada, followed by Trey Lyles with 21.

Previously USA West took the 3rd place beating Brazil 88-63.
