Not even the twin towers of Sangalang and Almazan slowed down the Warriors. To think Regen already beefed up their backcourt with the acquisition of Alex Nuyles.

NLEX is simply too talented, too deep, too good.

THE Philippines advanced to the quarterfinals of the 1st Fiba-Asia 3x3 Championships after claiming two victories in the group stages in Doha, Qatar.

Represented by the PBA Developmental League’s Blackwater Sports, the Philippines took second spot in Group A after victories against Mongolia and Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

The Filipino cagers will face Jordan in the quarterfinal round.

The team of Kevin Ferrer, Gio Ciriacruz, Robby Celiz, and Bacon Austria lost its first outing against Qatar Maroon, 11-21, but defeated Mongolia, 21-15, and Sri Lanka, 17-9.

The winner of the Philippines-Jordan match-up will face either India or Saudi Arabia.

The other quarterfinal pairings feature Qatar Maroon against Qatar Grey, and Iran versus Chinese Taipei.

Sad to see the resurgent Cagayan miss the play-offs. For some reason, Exciminiano and Poligrates both fizzled out towards the latter part of the season.

I'm now rooting for EA Regen.

the chemistry of the team wasnt as fluid with the addition of some players plus Puas constant absence affected their rotation.Giving a defense deficient cruz more minutes also takes away much of their defensive intensity. Biggest factor is losing an Almazan. This team lose their identity which is defense this conference. No thanks to the election. Btw, i chatted with george ella and ask his opinion on poligrates. Talent wise hinog na daw pero parang hindi daw seryoso maglaro. Players who are expected to join the Pba draft are Bringas , Nuyles , Poli , exciminiano , almazan. Obvious ba?

Jens Knuttel is now playing for EA Regen. Umabot siya sa trade deadline. =)

Now EA Regen has a true pass-first PG! Hope they make the semis!

Have you seen Boracay in action recently? I tell you...im chongsons greatest critic but im delightfully surprised with their brand of basketball lately. Mas maayos sila ngayon. While the Regens who has trinidad instead of Vergel calling the shots in also a team without discipline. You got vergel who is ultra strict...de numero like his mentor Derek and on the opposite end Trinidad who is bara-bara. Worst you got Dennis Pineda working on Trinidad like backseat driver.

Oh well. Tough luck for EA Regen. They still failed to make the final 4 despite getting Almazan, Nuyles and Knuttel to beef up their roster.

On paper they are much better than Boracay Rum but there's no use if they can't translate it to good team basketball. Blackwater is a good example, no real star players but they are coached well and always find ways to win. Let's see if they can go all the way.

well, what do you expect? Trinidad and his protege Abueva honed their play in the barangay leagues. Same with their boss. EA Regen can win if they could get Aerial voyager and Barangay league master to work together.

Big Chill Superchargers advances into the semis. Trading Nuyles for Apinan has turned out to be a good move for their team. Romeo helped beat his Fruitas-FEU team twice to reach the semis and face NLEX.

It's Blackwater vs Boracay Rum and NLEX vs Big Chill. NLEX will win another championship unless Blackwater can pull off a major upset.

romeo got his numbers but it was mar villahermosa who stood out in this win...not only did he hit that game extending 3 but his defense on lastimosa was also key. losing escoto clearly hurt fruitas though...
