IMO, DLSU can beat this ADMU team if they play with more discipline, crisp passing and good interior defense. Revilla is a heady PG but he forces his ala-hoy shots too often even against Slaughter. DLSU must learn the discipline of Smart Gilas of Rajko Toroman, when it comes to playing against teams with dominant centers. They can defend ADMU. Offense is their problem as they are caught oof guard when they try to match up with ADMU's individual talent. But this DLSU team has the depth to topple ADMU.

We will only see his real skills once he plays for national team were he will be surrounded by talented players.

he was quite good with Sinag...but yes we will only see how good he is when he plays with the NT AGAINST good competition. sayang we can't send the Cadets to the Jones Cup.

And worse he is in SMC greedy hands because his father already works for SMC.

UST-DLSU with another classic game! Mariano played like a stud go-to-guy. Called it when I caught some of UST's preseason games, Aljohn will open a lotta eyes this year, I understand he's only 19.

If not for that sorry first game loss against FEU, UST is playing the best ball among all UAAP squads. Go uste!!

I am really irritated when somebody is making it physical on kiefer ravena.
Kiefer Ravena keeps on head banging too much. Head bang to the max like a rock star.
maybe his style to make the refs see he is being fouled.

Slaughter doesnt bend and bang well when bodied up,doesnt dribble when in post especially under the basket. maybe he is wary the ball might get stolen from him? It is sometimes effective like when he was against real bigs but it will be better if he can power dribble and bang more(when i say bang not mainly overpowering opponents ).
Slaughter should try to develop his elevation more. Those euro bigs in olympics slams the ball when under the basket effortlessly and good in securing second chance from offensive rebounds or taps. They jump effortlessly like they were just doing a jump rope routine while fighting for that rebound/tap/dunk. If slaughter can do at least that and Aguilar playing 'ok' even not up to everyone's expectations, Philippines will be ok.

How can we expect him to improve? He's a coconut tree among mangoes! He can shoot over Hargrove, Mbe, and Betayene. I say (even though no one is listening hewhehe) put Slaughter on our Jones Cup team!

still shaking my head over our Archers' loss. If USTe keeps this up laglag na kami sa Final Four. No one can put up against Mariano, and Jeron sucked eggs at the free throw line. We were able to stop Jeric but not Aljon.

Actually, what La Salle did wrong IMO was putting Andrada on Mariano. UST was letting Aljon isolate Andrada at the left side, top of the key, then attacking the cleared-out shaded lane (damn crossovers ;p). But they won't sit down Andrada for, let's say, Webb just to guard him because Yutien was also doing well with those Nelbert Omolon plays. It didn't help that your guys kept missing free throws all game. It was great that Manguera was able to silence the red-hot-during-the-1st-3-qtrs Bautista. Idol ko na talaga si LA Revilla.

As for the Teng-Teng match-up, Jeron won it hands down. Imagine, a rookie of a 'star studded' team scoring important baskets in the 1st OT.

Collecting all these big name HS players has been back firing DLSU during the past seasons IMO.

    This UST team is special.

Granted, but his teammates are able to cover up for him (Not at least in that loss), but you get the point. Slaughter needs bigger competition.

UAAP: "In consideration of the recovery situation in flood-stricken areas and the use of most government facilities as evacuation centers, the UAAP will be postponing the games on August 9 (Thu) and August 11 (Sat) until we are able to confirm venues. Thank you."

NCAA: "Due to the recent weather condition brought about by the Monsoon rains and in consideration to the recovery situation in flooded areas and while other NCAA-member schools are being used as evacuation sites, the NCAA Games scheduled on August 9 (Thu) and August 11 (Sat) are to be POSTPONED. The NCAA ManComm will meet on Friday to make the New Schedule."

Let us continue to pray for everyone's safety. Thank You.

What ails the La Salle Green Archers?

(*Wow, I finally know how to do that. Hahaha! (the link inside the text or whatever)*)

But what I am thinking: Is karma hitting DLSU (U18 Youth team of Franz Pumaren issue)? Well, they can still salvage their season as they have really been playing quite good despite of the losses.

But with the way that they get blue chip HS players and saying every year that 'He's the missing piece' or something, they won't get that continuity. Look at the number of those who transferred to other schools! For sure, there are also those in their team B waiting for their turn, and those too might transfer.

Maybe if they let their players play for the NT they might break the curse? Just saying. lol

FEU star RR Garcia, his game has been down lately. Terrence Romeo and Anthony Hargrove are the ones who are carrying the team. Hopefully, Arvie Bringas and Russel Escoto contributes more especially in their finals re-match against Ateneo.

+1 but will they be called up? IMHO all those Pumaren youth team alumni regressed when they entered DLSU. Jeron Teng is next.
