Default Who are the best coaches in Philippines today???

Whether they're high school, collegiate, semi-pro, or pro; retired or active.

well, I don't know much about Charles Tiu, but is he really that good? or the other way around?
It's ironic to see limited efforts from players with maximum salary.
I wish they would apply "sabermetrics" in those financially challenged PBA teams to acquire players who are value for their money.

yep. according to some of my alumni sources, ateneo (not mvp) made an offer to coach bo which he accepted.

mvp's original plan was to get ryan "the man with a few thousand words" gregorio to call the shots for the blue eagles. ghastly, i know.
ateneo, still peeved at mvp for pirating norman black from loyola heights, nixed the plan and instead looked for its own coach. nothing mvp could do about that.

where have you been ???? don't you remember the plagiarism scandal which made several persons in the Ateneo community ask that several awards conferred to MVP be taken away. are you not aware of this:

    http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/business/...ateneo-faculty

Even though there are a lot of Ateneans who adore MVP there are still others within the community who are his critics and detractors.

There are also quarters who are taken aback that it was all praises for MVP and his Corporate Group for the successes of the Blue Eagles when equal if not more credit should also be given to the Jesuit Priests, Ateneo Administration and the Ateneo Alumni.

hmmm.....im not going to pick from the pba ranks. For me what makes a good coach is his knowledge of the game( i.Q, teacher ), good communication skill( motivator) , flexible ( ability to adjust his system or principle) Well, topex is going to be a promising coach! Goldwin Monteverde of Chiang kai shek who beat Xavier and Hope Christian to win the tiong lian tournament. The coach from Lyceum as well. ricky Dandan perhaps....

    Technical side:

Tim Cone - triangle Offense anyone?
Gee Abanilla - they say you get to fully appreciate the value of a person once he's gone. Coach Gee was the mind behind Petron's coaching system, writing up the Xs and Os, and that Coach Ato was the one delivering it to the team. Look at PBB now with coach Gee's transfer to DLSU.
Charles Tiu - heard good things, though nothing more than that

    Relationship with Players:

Franz Pumaren - just observe how close he still is with his former players in DLSU who are now in the PBA
Yeng Guiao - quite tough to everyone else, but is able to hold players' loyalty and support

    Tough Love:

Joe Lipa - want to toughen up your team? How about your coach inserting p*****ina in every sentence said?
Two things I've learned from my dog:
1.) Never bite the hand that feeds you
2.) Don't shit in your own backyard
